This American must not have travelled in their own country. There are plenty of US states that ONLY have alcohol - of ANY kind - in state approved shops w/restricted hours (closed Sundays!) & those same states also have entire counties (areas in those states) that don't allow the sale of alcohol AT ALL! They also obviously never heard of red ants - far worse than any sand fly swarm & must live in either NYC or San Fran as those are the ONLY places in the US with ANY decent public transport. So yeah def an American who's only travelling to prove to themselves that they should just stay home cuz different countries are different & that's bad. As a former American, now Kiwi (so long I remember most shops closing at 1/2pm Sat & closed Sun in Welly), I can tell you that these are the people I FLED from....& when I've met them here complaining I HAPPILY told them that THEY were what I was trying to get away from.
