The 2023 Iola's boys cross country team led by Senior Charlie Vater shoots to change the culture of the cross country program at Iola. They have high hopes of becoming the first boys team to make it to state in school history. Charlie continues his pursuit of becoming the individual state cross country champion. Watch their journey and the fun they have along the way.

There have been many good individual runners from Iola in the past, and as I was growing within the program and learning more about these runners I wished I could hear all about their stories. Unfortunately there isn't much documentation on their individual journeys. So I had a goal of creating a story that was worth watching, and documenting it for any Iola runner in the future to watch. Now when there is another 8th grade boy with dreams as big as the ones I had in 8th grade who is wondering about past runners in the program, he can watch this story and not have to wonder about what my journey was like.

This documentary would be no where near possible without the endless support from my parents. I was inspired to try to make a documentary by Aidan and Grant Matthai, they showed me with their amazing documentary on their high school cross country experience that doing something like this is possible.
