After more than a month since South Africa held its national and provincial elections on the 29th of May, President Ramaphosa finally announced his new Government of National Unity Cabinet Sunday night.

For the past weeks, political parties taking part in the Government of National Unity have been behind closed doors negotiating in what some have described as the most difficult process in our country's 30 years of democracy.

The Cabinet appointments will also pave the way for the 7th administration and provincial legislature governments to begin their work for the next five years.

To talk more about the new Cabinet and what this entails for South Africans and political parties, we are joined by Dr Sithembile Mbete, Senior Lecturer at the University of Pretoria.

It was just musical chairs. Same capacity capabilities under new administration. Same pudding different sauce.

I just love Dr Sthe she is beaty and brains.
  • Bloated Cabinet/Executive but mixed nicely, now we will judge their abilities and performance individually. Defence Ministry is going to be interesting and hope the DA in Education will sort out the teacher-student ratio in our Kasi/Township and Rural Schools and change this current curriculum to be economically outcomes based. For example introduction of Robotics, I.T. Hardware Assembly/Repairs and Coding which will require new resources infrastructure for schools. Hope Gayton McKenzie doesn't party too much in this portfolio 😂🇿🇦🇿🇦
