Being able to do both Umbridge and Queen Elizabeth shows how amazing of an actor she is.
-
When the Queen is walking through the hall, it is 70 seconds, her years of reign. I think the hall is her accomplishments and dedication and her life from the start to the end
-
I like that they brought all the actresses back to be in one scene together
-
She was never meant to be queen, but boy, did she become the best of them.
-
This scene was so well written. Philipp leaving her alone for a moment, too. Very respectful way to mention their recent deaths without actually showing them.
-
The time she spent walking out until the door shut in the last scene is approximately 70 seconds which is equal to the number of the years of her reign. You'll be missed. RIP.
-
The part where she steps to the side of the coffin and sees her younger self saluting her really puts into perspective just how long her reign was and how many historical eras she lived through. The modern attire we're all used to seeing in our modern day in photo and film, and then the WW2 uniform that we only see in history books or in museums or black and white grainy photographs. Both of them together contrasting eachother is an odd sight. If that shot were a picture it would indeed paint a thousand words.

Damn, when the young Elizabeth saluted ... !!

Such a powerful scene. A reminder that in the end, we all make that last long walk alone. May we all have the strength to do it with our heads up.

The moment the coffin and little elizabeth appeared almost brought me to tears. Realized that although she left behind a lot of herself along the way, she had never forgotten what she had always needed to do: her duty. When little elizabeth saluted her it’s like she was saying well done, for being a faithful servant of the throne

This scene is so powerful. The juxtaposition of her coffin only appearing when she looks at it, but invisible to us. Her previous actors appearing. The bright white light of the sun from the doors calling her home. The bagpiper playing. It’s so much it brings me to tears

She lived a long and golden life, she will always be remembered as the Queen

This is possibly the best ending of a show I've seen. The entire scene from when Philip finds her, to when "he'll go ahead", the music and her look at The Crown on her coffin, Elizabeth Windsor saluting her, and the walk she still had ahead... I was in bits. What a masterpiece of an ending.

YES! I was really hoping Claire and Olivia would make a final appearance on the show. I thought it would be during a flashback scene, but this is better. It's more emotional, beautiful, and touching. It's just awesome to see these 3 amazing actresses who portrayed Queen Elizabeth phenomenally.

My Nan is Scottish and she passed before Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth, but we had “Sleep, Dearie, Sleep” played at her funeral as we carried her in to the crematorium. It was a proper gut punch to hear it at both funerals and in this scene
-
Whoever thought of this ending deserves a raise. Perfect. Even down to the seconds she walks matching the number of years she ruled.
-
For all of the criticisms of The Crown, this scene was done perfectly with Love and Respect for the Queen.
-
This scene really hits home. It just says “This is it. This is where the story ends. Through all the hardships and sacrifices. For better and for worse.” “This song is almost over, but the story lives forever.”

So much symbolism and meaning here, it's such a beautiful ending. From Phillip leaving her side, symbolizing that he passed before her and she had to move forward without him. Then, her seeing herself lying in state, then seeing her past-selves. Her thinking about how far she's come and her life's journey. Then her walking through the corridor and through the door which opened without anyone there, showing only light on the other side, symbolizing her passing. 😢 Rest easy, your Majesty.

Such a WONDERFUL & CREATIVE way to end The CROWN and an AWESOME tribute to her late Majesty!!!
