The relationship between eggs and heart disease has been debated and researched over the years. Eggs are a source of dietary cholesterol, and in the past, it was believed that consuming foods high in cholesterol, like eggs, could raise blood cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease. However, scientific understanding has evolved, and current research suggests that dietary cholesterol may not have as significant an impact on blood cholesterol levels as once thought.

Several large studies have examined the association between egg consumption and heart disease. These studies have generally found that moderate egg consumption, defined as up to seven eggs per week, does not appear to increase the risk of heart disease or stroke in healthy individuals. In fact, eggs are a nutrient-dense food that provides high-quality protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

It's worth noting that individual responses to dietary cholesterol can vary. Some people may be more sensitive to dietary cholesterol, and consuming large amounts of eggs or other cholesterol-rich foods may contribute to increased blood cholesterol levels. How eggs are prepared and consumed with other foods can also impact heart health. For example, consuming eggs with unhealthy fats or sodium-rich ingredients (such as bacon or processed meats) may negatively affect heart health compared to having eggs as part of a balanced diet that includes vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

While having lunch at work, 4 boiled eggs and black rice, a co worker remarked ā€œyouā€™re eating a lot of eggs, not good for your cholesterol.ā€ I asked ā€œwhich one? LDL or HDL?ā€. He got a little angered and replied ā€œI donā€™t know! But if you eat a lot of eggsā€¦.whatever, itā€™s your heartā€ and kinda stormed off with his instant noodles, Coca Cola and bag of cookies lunch. That felt like a general representation of the average persons understanding of diet.

I am 69 and have eaten eggs all my life. Since I passed 60 I upped egg intake to around 4 to 5 a day and am on no medication. I keep processed foods to a minimum. My blood work is good and 119 over 75. EGGS šŸ„š ARE GOOD FOR ME. ā¤
  • I'm an aircraft technician and I have been eating 6 farm-raised eggs a day for the past 20 years and I have been perfectly healthy I agree with you.
  • @judys5767
I ate two eggs daily for 3 months and cholesterol numbers went down significantly!!!!!
  • @rickgarza5985
I have eaten tons of eggs all my life. During my highschool years I ate 5 scrambled eggs and 4 flour tortillas every morning for 4 years and pretty much on and off all my life and I'm 57 now I've never been consistent exercise minded and have always been about 20 lbs over weight. My last blood work last year showed my cholesterol levels still within safe levels. I love eggs when I eat them I always eat 5 at a time . I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes. 3 months ago I had a cardio test and the tech told me my heart was very strong and also noticed I am a super calm person. And I don't need eye glasses yet except for night driving but I manage fine with out them . Im 57

Went to a seminar almost 20 years ago to listen to a guy in his mid 90s talk about the cosmos. He was full of energy, sharp as a tack and if you didn't know any better, you'd think he was in his 40s. During the Q&A at the end of the meeting, someone told him he looked like the fountain of youth and asked how he did it. "A dozen eggs every day for the last 30 years" he said and he wasn't kidding. He explained that lecithin is an essential fat found in the yolk of the egg and the only way to consume it is from eating eggs and not a supplement and then went into why it does what it does. I've never forgotten what he said because he provided that information at a cosmos seminar and not health meeting.

My grandfather still eats eggs, burgers, steak, sausage, bacon, venison, etc. He will sometimes eat these every day, and he has never suffered a heart attack. This year, the man turns 87 years old. He is 3 years shy of 90, and he still eats meat and several eggs as part of his diet.
  • My own anecdotal experience: eating eggs every day was beneficial for me. Cholesterol lowered, blood sugar was good, it was a boon. Meanwhile, the year I ate a lot of cheese, it did the opposite - high triglycerides and cholesterol, so for my own body - eggs good, cheese not good.
  • @janekbar5
I was eating lots of eggs, spent time on the sun (no filter cream), lifting weights, taking cold showers after. I felt very well and libido increased so much!!!

In the book,ā€™ The five Tibetan Rights of Rejuvenationā€™, the author, Peter Kelder mentions the diet of an isolated group of super centenarians in Tibet. They ate many eggs, raw or boiled, very little sugar, and they had an exercise routine that was the precursor to modern yoga . I followed it and saw dramatic improvement within days. Fifteen years later, at age 70, I still have no health issues whatsoever, and Iā€™m able to work hard on a farm every day. I eat once a day and drink a lot of juice and water. I have no belly fat,my hair is still brown, and my family and friends gawk at me in wonder.I am a lean, mean cowboy machine!šŸ¤

I love my cholesterol! My veins are clean and I love saturated fats! Eggs is a thing I eat every day. And I am 70 and in great shape!
  • Thank you so much for the clarification. We ate a lots of eggs and it didnā€™t show any change in our cholesterol despite people telling us that we are crazy for eating around 4-5 eggs a day. Great and easy to understand video. Many, many thanks to you.
