(I'm using a very large 28cm)
INGREDIENTS
1 kg (2.2 lb) beef suitable for braising/stewing, as mentioned in the video
1 kg (2.2 lb) onions pre peeled weight about 1.2 kg, give or take
2 Tbsp ghee (or salted butter or EV olive oil)
1 tsp baharat
2 bay leaves dried or fresh
½ tsp salt
125 ml (1 cup) water
freshly ground black pepper
optional, finely chopped fresh parsley, to finish

2:47 Start cooking with heating the ghee
3:00 Brown the meat
4:07 Add the onions
4:59 Cover and cook for 1 hour
6:40 Add water and cook for another 30 minutes
7:18 All done

The spices, onions, and ghee are certainly enough on their own to make a flavorful dish, but it's the Chef's hands and heart that put the love in the tummy. :-)

I found reference to this dish in a spy thriller.... So I looked it up....and came across your video.... Despite not being a good or even competent cook... I thought I'd give it a go.

Hi Azlin, not sure if you saw my question on your blog. Will this work with chicken? I'm keen to try it this weekend. I still want to make this beef version but two friends don't do red meat, so I though I'd make 2 versions.
