It's Already Started People Are Arriving in Paris Because it's 2024

Published 2024-04-27
With the 2024 Paris Olympics round the corner I felt it was important to remember the 1924 Paris Olympics where Eric Liddell a Christian runner stunned the world when he made the decision to withdraw from his favourite race the 100M sprint because he didn't want to compete on a Sunday. Joe Kirby from Off the Kirb Ministries also explores Eric Liddell's life and how he also gave up being an athlete to become a missionary for Jesus.

I don't normally do this, but would you please consider sharing this video with your Pastor? As my main goal for this video is that it could be used in churches and shared with friends and family as we approach the Paris 2024 Olympics. If it does get shown in your church, please come back to this pinned comment and tell me, as I'd really love to hear from you!! Much love to you all - Joe

I'm busy running the race of my life. I'm being persecuted at work by workers of iniquity. My case against them is next month. I can only stand strong in Jesus, he is my only hope and salvation. Jesus Christ is my rock. Without him I am nothing.

Joe my name is Cin. I was struggling between sin and Jesus. But your videos made me reflect on my life and now I am born again. Thank you so much❤🤝

Eric has long been one of my heroes. Chariots of Fire is such a great movie.

Beautiful report, Joe. I've heard this story before. Inspiring. I am now pushing 70, I've come to realize that as we listen to the Savior Jesus Christ, and pay attention we will discover how He fits our life experiences together for His ultimate Glory. Let's be a blessing.

Wow, just wow. He might have left behind the temporary glamor but nobody will steal his reward in heaven, that's for sure. Amazing fella, respect!
  • I knew a lady whose family were with the China Inland Mission and who were in the Japanese internment camp with 'Uncle Eric'. She was a child and he taught her..... amazing humble brother in Christ.

This was so good. I love the story of Eric Liddell. What an example of what a servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ should be. Thank you.

May the spirit of Eric Liddell run at the race 100 years later leading us all to Jesus Christ and victory.❤

He soooo received his crown!!!! The Lord said "welcome you good and faithful servant".
  • I'm 59. I've been blessed to be able to retire at 53, have three beautiful children, nine grandchildren and one great grandson. I've go so much to live for, yet if our Lord decides to take me home this morning, it would be the greatest gift I could ever receive! To be with my Savior for eternity.....the ultimate prize ❤❤

Please pray for me brothers and sisters. As of June 1, 2024 I will be homeless. I don’t make enough to qualify to rent from anywhere in my city. I am disabled and cannot work.
