- Original Sound Effects for Comparison:

   • Sukana Reanimated Domain Expansion | ...

—————————————————————————————

So far, this is the most effort I've ever put into a sound redesign video. And dare I'd say this was the most challenging one to make.

Sukuna's Domain is described to slash apart anything until nothing but dust remains and hopefully I've captured that exact description with this sound design.

I tried making the beginning of his Domain Expansion to sound like a creature emerging from the depths below, hence the monstrous scream. I layered that with a warhorn-like sound effect that I personally think fit pretty nicely.

My only disappointments in this redesign is when Mahoraga got turned into paste and the Fuga explosion. For the Mahoraga part, It just didn't end up how I wanted it to sound. And for the Fuga explosion, I think I got a bit lazy in the end.

All in all, I this is probably one of my best works so far. Certainly not my proudest, but definitely something that'll help solidify my presence in this platform. Thank you for reading!

JJK is absolutely terrifying fron the civilians pov
  • You know the scary thing is that this is probably the most realistic way the fight would be seen, no fancy music, no commentary, everything gets destroyed like it was hit with a nuke.

0:51 that dull horn sound is perfect for the domain my goodness. I wish the whole show was designed like this

You can feel the animation with these sounds! Anime studios should really put more emphasis on sound desing as it gives life to the animation!

HOLY SHIT This scene was entirely transformed just from the SFX redesign. The eerily silence then accompanied by the natural, un-bass boosted apocalyptic sounds of Malevolent Shrine literally sent shivers.

What I really have to point out in your sound design is, that every layer is clearly audible and "not just bass boosted". You feel the threat that radiates from Sukuna and the little pause at 00:58 with the reverb really made everything after even more impactful. Great job!

0:48 I really like how imposing the Malevolent Kitchen sounds with the reverb

0:49 reminds me of King Crimson's sound effect. the deep bass and grungy horns, the material distortion, the universe tearing itself from the seams, and then the quiet before the chaos. very eerie and horrifying.

Bro we warned you, you have to hide from Mappa and their working conditions
  • @Jaycass519
As much as I love the music in fights I wish shows would do this more often, complete silence during fights makes them feel so much more immersive

This is dune level sfx right here, I've kinda been sleeping on you ngl, this is crazy
  • @kat_food2297
I love this. It sounds like sukuna’s domain is unholy.
  • @chinanddip1847
Gosh I wish more anime studios would upgrade their sound effects. Makes everything so much more cinematic, holy smokes.

When sound truly makes you FEEL.
  • @Sssp801
The way the sounds of consecutive slashes circles around you when wearing headphones makes the domain actually sounds like its cutting everything around it into a million pieces until nothing but dust remains. Absolutely peak.

The goat of sound design is back with another masterpiece!
  • @Djoki1
Bro cooked at least as hard as Fuga did. And that Fuga explosion felt like a truck hit you, as it should.
