He didn't "attack them", he talked about media sensationalism, then you gave it a sensationalist title.
  • @GorcStew
Knew this was click-bait but I clicked anyways to see Mike. He doesn't attack anybody. The guy is like a rapping Mr. Rogers.
  • @PoppyJ1419
Zero attacking happening here imo. An intelligent post about dealing with difficult or damaging information! RIP ChesteršŸ™šŸ’ž
  • What he said about journalists having to consider triggers is so so so important. I remember, a couple of months back, a video popped up on my youtube home page when I was just looking for stuff to watch out of boredom. The video was titled 'Chester Bennington's suicide: 5 saddest reasons' and the thumbnail picture was a picture of the body (which god knows how they got or why they thought it was respectful to put it on the internet). I never searched for this. I never clicked on the video. But I had no way of escaping the picture. It triggered me, one of the worst triggers I've ever had. To this day, I still can't think of him without seeing this picture in my head... People need to understand that their actions affect people. They need to learn to take responsibility.
  • Sending you hugs. Lost my husband 4 days after Chester and we suffered from the same disease. I am so so sorry Mike.
  • @Tryonic
i refuse to believe the person that wrote the title actually watched the video. as far as the video itself, stan shinoda, mans a frickin legend.
  • In the Australian media, there are rules (maybe laws?) about how suicide is reported, so that it is not triggering. The method is never described, and often, the word suicide is not even used. They will simply report a death, and then say something like, 'police say the death is not suspicious.' And then, at the end of the article, there will be a list of helplines that we have in Australia for people who might be struggling with the same issues. Some people argue that by reporting in this way, the plight of suicide is being ignored, that the media are not bringing awareness to the issue. I don't know how I feel- as someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts myself, I don't know which method of reporting is better.
  • Mike is someone I idolise a lot for not only his talent but his mindset

I get ideations quite often, at least once a week. I suffer greatly with widespread chronic pain & this opioid epidemic has caused many others like myself who are suffering additional pain & for me, increased my mental illnesses 10-fold. The chronic pain community has already lost so many to #suicideduetopain because of so many reasons. We havenā€™t been able to live like our doctors, government & the rest of the world. We survive. Our government is partly responsible as for our crappy healthcare system. We need a voice! We canā€™t fight by ourselves and the few doctors we have on our side. I canā€™t even imagine the pain you have gone through. A year and a half later & Iā€™m still grieving the loss of Chester. I watch YouTube concert videos because it helps, but also brings tears. I even got his signature tattooed on my arm with a butterfly & a semicolon (for mental health awareness.) I plan to continue & finish. Iā€™m so very grateful for all of you & I love the ghost video! lol Super cute & made me smile. Thank you for being you!
  • I am so proud of you Mike, been a fan since 1996, was good listening to you, your very wize, I know Chester is proud of you too. LP 4eve
  • He is so right when he says don't click on that stuff. I had 2 friends who were the most loving funny nerdy goofballs and one turned into a raging misogynist women hating mgtow redpill, and the other a hateful incel. All because they were indoctrinated via these dumbass reddits and websites. Legit echo chambers of hate and nonsense. Even w/ Linkin Park some "fans" have taken to believing horrible rumors and spreading craziness online. Like that's just horrible. Let Chester rest in peace and let his family&friends live in peace. Don't click on the clickbait.

This was why I stopped using Facebook, Twitter all forms of social media. That and the lack of privacy. I don't want my ex to find out where I am ever minute of my day. I may go back on Instagram but only if I can turn my location off. Mike you are very wise. I wish you all the best. Happy New year to you and all of LP.
  • @Nem01
I know it wasn't intentional, I know Mike would NEVER say it on purpose, but the 'thanks for hanging' at the end hit me like a bombshell.
  • @Love_Hope_Faith

There's a rabbit hole in media he's discussing I agree, outside of that there's foul play however its too simple to be considered a snake when you have to choose your words wisely.
  • @wchocobunny
Yas!!! 10000000% Yes! Do not allow any negativity and toxicity to ruin your happy. Rid your life of any and everything that makes negativity win. It is not worth it. Mike you are an amazing person and it's so awesome to see you continue to be such a great influence to so many. Rock on!!

I appreciate your words and I have been dealing with mental health for so long that has can remember becoming a part of my daily life. to wish to have the courage and the opportunity to do what Chester did and p then push me not to look at news or media too much and chose to refer to listen to your music instead(being so awsome) think is SO much better than doing other stuff. that might put me down more than usual.Thank you for your kind words and for caring. You are a very kind and caring and sensitive man. Have a wonderful and meaningful holiday season.
