I went to school with Karen...she was a sweet person and was very shy ...may God bless her

What sets this rendition apart from anyone else's is sincerity, a sense of intimacy and warmth . When every other singer is singing DCFMA to a crowd. Karen is singing to each ONE in the crowd.

Im also a 71 year old man living alone for over 40 years becer smiked nor drank alcohol happy years still grafting 8 or 9 hrs a day as a gardener for good people in deffrent great locations so I'm too old to cry for the song but I did cry for the great singer concerning her early avoudable death. Oh what a voice.

When I heard this song many decades ago, Karen Carpenter became my favourite singer of all time. She still is.

I don't know why, but I am a 71 year old man and I am sitting here with tears running down my face as I listen to her wonderful voice. Karen I miss you so much.

For a simple man to cry over a song, it is because something must have that voice and that interpretation or it must be because I love my country 🇦🇷 thank you Karen

I was lonely and walking in cold rain on the streets of Suzhou 40 years ago, listening to the melody from heaven. Now I am an old man, tired and sitting in my chair, still listening to it in a quiet cabin in the highland of Arizona, under the shining moon smiling at me through the tall Ponderosa trees. Oh Lord, this is life. This is life.

Never knew this existed....no one will ever come close to her.

We will never stop missing Karen Carpenter. And I'm so sad we couldn't help her.
  • @johnnorman4416
She was, by any estimation, one of the top 3 female singers of all time.
  • I wonder how good Karen was at acting. Because I think she would’ve been great on Broadway. Can you imagine her using her voice to charm people as Evita?
  • I wish Karen was still with us. Never ever will we have another Karen..It makes me sad when people feel they are not worthy. Beautiful, talented, loved and admired.. That is you Karen
