People don’t seem to understand how awesome these bikes are
  • These were made from 1987 to 1991. They were 1100 bucks brand new off show rm floor with a 50 cc . There a collectors item when in gd shape. Mines a 91 n worth every bit of 3000 grand. Mine titled fully insured. 65 dollers a year 85 miles to the gallon. N everyone looks at it when u dr bye. Small bikes bring a smile every time u ride. Sold my r1 but kept my ysr (lil is her name ).

  • Love that bike! when i was a teenager(15 or 16), i had auto shop in high school for four classes, and i asked my teacher that was also a doctor, and a race car driver, if i could build a conversion for my ysr micro mobility street bike, he said yes. i had purchased a non running ysr, and a crashed liquid cooled honda cr 80 which still had a good engine, it had jetting done to the carburetor, and aftermarket reeds, and the cylinder head was bored out, with porting and polishing as well. i made the motor mounts in class. i remember like 70% of the class wanted to help me build the bike. i even made a custom aluminum dashboard which held the gauges (i had added extra gauges to the dashboard) i remember thinking when it was all done, it sound really great (i had custom welded an exhaust pipe, the entire pipe from engine to tailpipe, which was a mixture of a pro circuit pipe, and the original stock pipe so that i could make the pipe fit, and bolt up to the ysr) the ysr liquid cooled 80 was fast but i remember thinking that the fun was done, because i enjoyed building the bike. i road the bike to school for awhile, and sold the bike to a friend that said it was their dream bike. great memories! nice bike!

This makes me remember my old Derbi FDX. It was downtuned by law in the Netherlands to run ~27 mph. I replaced the exhaust with an expansion type and the darn thing ran a certified 50mph, limited by gearing. I bet it would have gotten up to 60 if I changed that. Great memories... I remember when I got it, and I followed a pal home from work. He used to pull away easy, and then I stayed right with him. He was honestly surprised. He had a Malaguti phantom F12 scooter. We're talking the late 90's. And we were 16-17. What a rush!

Those bikes are very rare and I've only seen 3 of them and 2 of them you boys hade I wish I could have a bike as cool as that you boys are very lucky
  • @carlroberts9130
More noise than speed sounds like clutch is slipping slightly and yeah it's ok for a 80cc but compared to a 85cc motocross it's slow but might just want a good tune bigger carb and modify the airbox but to be fair it's good for it's age looks mint condition very collectable.
  • @inksmith3019
Any one else catch that he called the lever a 'trigger'?! What a dubba lmao
  • that thing should've been 500 bucks. I bought my cbr600rr for 2500 dollars
  • @ghpjerry
I had a pocket bike that we built up and topped out @ 56mph...Which was stupid fast on something that you can carry under your arm. Buddy crashed his and has rods in his leg now. Sold mine.
  • Nice! I have a 92' black and yellow one with 425 miles. We also have a 86' with an watercooled yz 80 motor and all of the up graded calamari parts and solid wheels.. they are quite fun to mess around on.
  • @RussellD11
Cant see that worth anymore then $1k honestly
  • @franktaylor7617
People don't understand. Yes $3k is the going price for a clean unit. And yes I can buy all sorts of things for $3k. There are few left in good condition. This thing also has expensive after market wheels, not mentioned. It's supply and demand. If you really want one. You'll have to pay the price. Although it is funny how that works. I can easily get a GSXR, CBR or like my early ZX11 for the $3-3.5k
