This song always makes me think of the Cosby Show when they celebrated the grandparents’ 49th wedding anniversary.
  • For many of us, “The Cosby Show” was our introduction to this song. I know it’s sacrilegious to bring up his name now because of what he did, but at the time, that episode where they serenaded the grandparents with this song, was classic. And it’s a great song by the great Ray Charles. I also highly recommend the CCR version.

Two words: "Cosby Show".....I guess Jay & Amber are even too young to remember this Cosby episode! lol J & A watch the rerun. Good reaction!

Always love it when he says, "Sing your song, Margie" - and she DOES :)
  • That was Margie Hendrix singing. She was one of the Raelettes, his backup singers and was also in love with Ray Charles. They were breaking up around the time this song was recorded; thus the pain in her voice. Great song❤🎶🎼

I can still see Rudy Huckstable's face singing the B-a-b-y ... part of this song! To me, it will live on forever in my memories. Loved that show too. Thanks for another great reaction! Ray Charles is a deep catalog you should continue to explore! ✌💙✌

Love this!! I always remember this from The Cosby Show! It was too funny!!
  • Ray Charles was a Legend!!! "Hit the Road Jack (and don'tcha come back no more, no more, no more, no more)"
  • Marjorie Hendrix is the second singer... and she was UPSET. They had a turbulent relationship.
  • @mikecaetano
Sweet! When you're ready for more from Ray Charles, check out some of these classics - "Hit the Road Jack", "What'd I Say", "I Can't Stop Loving You", "Unchain My Heart", "I Got A Woman", "Drown In My Own Tears", and of course, "Georgia On My Mind".
  • That is the late great singer Mary Hendrix doing the solo unfortunately she died way too soon at the age of 38 in 1973 😢
  • @mofun5315
Most people in your age range are fans of Jamie Foxx, so I'm surprised you hadn't seen his best work "Ray".
  • @Bclarence765
One of Ray's earliest hits, "The Mess Around" shows off his piano prowess and dynamite vocals! You can't go wrong with Brother Ray!
  • Ray is the godfather of rhythm and blues. This song changed everything!
