Making Friends on the NYC Subway

Published 2024-06-24
New Yorkers seem to always get a bad rap, from their attitude to streets and subway, most people think of NYC as a hectic, dirty, and mean place. We set out to learn more about the city in its most antisocial spot, the subway... by inviting strangers to one epic Central Park picnic. Enjoy :)

About us: we are two college students who are genuinely curious about the wide variety of people and perspectives across the United States. This summer, we are traveling the country to answer the question: what is the current state of America? Follow along to learn as we go.

It’s night before Lucas’s birthday. As he becomes 20, I feel he and his friend Ezekiel are living life as life should be lived. Opening up barriers ,showing kindness by being able to listen to others with compassion. Love , Nana

  • You two are engaging in awesome communications with people. If you can get people engaging with each other in New York City, then you can get people together anywhere!

If adults had a quarter of the intelligence, sensitivity and good heart of the two brothers, we would be living in a much better planet. As Ayla said, "just love, don't hate".
