Petra - Jordan 🇯🇴 Lost CIty Of Stone

Published 2019-02-11
Petra, originally known to its inhabitants as 'Raqmu', is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Petra lies on the slope of Jabal Al-Madbah in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah valley that run from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. Petra is believed to have been settled as early as 9,000 BC, and it was possibly established in the 4th century BC as the capital city of the Nabataean Kingdom. The Nabataeans were nomadic Arabs who invested in Petra's proximity to the trade routes by establishing it as a major regional trading hub.

Best documentary of Petra I've ever seen. Very clear spoken and comfortable knowing that the words were pronounced correctly.

I recently was able to visit Petra and wished that I heard and saw this video first. The female narrator has a beautiful voice which adds so much to the presentation.

It amazes me how they managed to carved that entrance with no modern tools or technology. Amazing

Absolutely beautiful!!!!! Thank You so much!!
  • Impressive presentation! Thank you! I feel a strong connection to ancient Petra.⭐️
  • No no no. Petra wasn't only a town of mansory ( stone you say, but stone by itself is not a culture, so the word is a mistake). There was also an enormous part of 'natural' tradiction, whose you can study the relics throuth animal's figures of mosaics on the floor. Underneath instead there are the 'basins'.
  • Thank you Petra was a city of renaissance for several mix of culture: natural lives but also mansory' existences. There are two path: in and out and two levels. You can get out and turn on left or right. Obviously not at all in English tongue!!! At time of Petra's live England wasn't of course. So you haven't to think of English people and it's language. You should use to speaking in that ancient language.
  • Petra is probably the old Mekka.. try read Quran and how it defines mekka, Petra is precisely the right city... and if you calculate the Qiblas of the oldest Islamic temples they point towards Petra...
