This truly is so nostalgic. I was going through some very tough times when the sister squad started and they honestly kept me going, I would just rewatch these videos several times a day and I lived for it. I know James Charles has done some bad things and I am not watching to support him, I was a Dolan Twins fan and I only started watching him because of that. I genuinely just love seeing them as friends and being silly teenagers (because that's what they were! I am not sure how much of it was real but it is just so comforting to come back to even 5 years later. I think things got so messy and way more difficult than they needed to be, fans (myself included) dove so deep into the rumors and speculations about dating/drama that it just made things so tense that it makes sense why that would play such a big roll in the sister squad ending. I know that it wasn't just that, it was probably many things, James Charles allegations, different paths etc. I think this specific group very clearly shows what happens when fans (especially stans) take things way too far, invading others' privacy and honestly just being disrespectful. They are content creators yes but that doesn't mean they don't deserve their own life outside of that, we as fans of anyone do not need to be a part of every aspect of that person's life. I hope that at the end of 2023 coming into 2024, we can start having better boundaries with content creators/celebrities for both their wellbeing and the wellbeing of their fans. Being a stan of anything/anyone is all-consuming, you follow every fan account, you watch every paparazzi video, every time they leave the house, watch all the edits, comment on all their posts, read ALL the fan fiction, read every new rumor or speculation, get into heated arguments with complete strangers on the other side of the world. Now some of these things are okay in moderation, we are allowed to enjoy things, we are allowed to enjoy the content and art people put out, and we are allowed to want to know more about them but I think there comes a point where we must say "If the person knew I was doing this or reading this about them how would they feel?" and "If they wanted to share this private thing in their life they would have already shared it with us. It is okay that I don't know everything about them, they are an individual, I am an individual and we can exist separately at the same time without me knowing everything they do" Anyway, I'm sorry for that long pondering, just rewatching these videos brings back many happy but also sad feelings and I feel like we are seeing a lot of the same issues today 5 years later. If you are reading this you probably also came back here to rewatch these for comfort and I hope they can bring you that. I hope everyone has a happy life filled with carefree joy.
