As an American I have never set foot inside of a Canadian Tire store. Today I am very excited to finally learn about what Canadian Tire is, what it sells, and what is is like inside. If you enjoyed the video feel free to leave a comment, like, or subscribe for more!

Canadian Tire also has a full service garage with many repair bays and mechanics. They also have a full car parts department.

Guys. I think we can finally adopt Tyler as an honorary Canadian. He’s discovered Canadian Tire. 🤣❤️

This was hilarious. I have yet to buy tires at Canadian Tire. I never considered that it was confusing to non-Canadians. We all just grew up knowing exactly what it was

My Grandad used to say "if you can't find it at Canadian Tire, you don't need it." He wasn't wrong lol. I got my brakes done at Crappy Tire last year -and got new tires! I also bought my lawnmower there, almost every bike I've had in my life was from there, as well as many pairs of skates. It's an institution!

I can't explain it, but all Canadians just 'know' what you can find at Canadian Tire. You immediately know if you need to go there vs. a Wal Mart etc.

It’s been replaced with a card program but at one time in the not too distant past virtually every home in Canada would have had a couple of bucks worth of Canadian Tire money laying around. I still have some in a drawer.

As a former CT employee, I gotta tell you, there are lots of tires… They’re just stored in the warehouse. For each one on display there are probably a hundred in a variety of sizes in the back. Winter tire season was always intense.
  • Hi Tyler, Canadian Tire started out selling tires, auto parts tools. Auto repair. My mother always told me that they started selling kitchen stuff so that the women, who were waiting with their husbands, or fathers had something to look at and buy. It’s expanded since then. 🇨🇦
  • Canadian Tire is really a Canadian "lifestyle" store. Camping, sports, car, snow blower and tools to repair stuff.

Canadian Tire has become the default go-to for things like garden necessities, common DIY fix-it things (like your cracked shower head or your broken curtain rod) and for small kitchen appliances. They always have a nice variety at a decent price, and their policies on returns and exchanges are a bit more generous than they need to be. It's as though they're a corporation that's also your friend's dad who'll treat you right. It all appeals to our Canadian cultural expectations.

I’m an immigrant and for years I’v been ignoring this store because I literally thought it was just car parts store and I didn’t have a car, so I never walked in. I don’t remember how I finally learnt about what it really was, but now I’m there quite often. And as a funny coincidence, I bought blender there yesterday :))

Not even exaggerating, but my dad goes to Canadian Tire at least 5 times a week to browse. It’s his happy place! 😊 My 4 year old daughter asked very seriously once, after a discussion about how sometimes when people die their ashes get scattered in their favourite place, if her grandpas ashes would be scattered at Canadian Tire since he goes there so often!

Lol, CT employee here… our motto at one time used to be “There’s a lot more to Canadian Tire than just tires.” We also have described our retail operations as “Canada’s largest hard goods retailer”. Began as an automotive supplies store and service centre and grew to encompass many retail channels, with now roughly 500 locations across the country, excluding the other specialty stores, petroleum locations and retail companies that we’ve acquired relatively recently (last 10-15 years). Tried to expand to the US as “The White Store” back in the 80s or early 90s but the market there is already very saturated with competitors carrying the same product categories wasn’t profitable I guess. I have no clue how that was the name that won the naming competition, can be misinterpreted at worst and at best it is a very forgettable name.

As someone who works at canadian Tire in the automotive sector, those tires that you see in the video are just the display most of the tire are kept in the back because there are hundreds upon hundreds in the warehouse just go to the parts desk and ask the employees and they will help you find the tire you need or any other auto questions you may have. At least in the ontario canadian tires , I don't know how all the different canadian tire in different province operates but I would assume it similar.

Fun fact. Depending on the store, Canadian Tire also has a hunting department including rifles and ammunition. More often it's limited to knives, pellet guns, fishing equipment, etc.

What is really cool about Canadian Tire is that the aisles are numbered and plumbing section in one store is exactly the same number as in another store. Once you know the lane numbers you can always find your way around. I used to love Canadian Tire money. The cards are just not the same. ❤ They do have huge warehouse section behind the parts section filled with tires.

Canadian Tire is like a cross between Home Depot/Lowes, and Bass Pro shops/Cabelas. It is an affordable store for tools, automotive supplies, gardening or camping supplies, sports equipment, household items, outdoor furniture, pet supplies, and the list goes on. It also has a auto repair bay and a greenhouse at either end. Just no clothing unless it is for hunting/fishing, etc. It is a great place to buy Christmas gifts with their seasonal sales. FYI - Bounty bars are coconut and chocolate-delish 😊.

    1) Automotive Service 2) Home Gardening Centre 3) Outdoor Sporting Goods Centre 4) Home Appliance Department 5) Plumbing, Electrical, & Automotive Supplies 6) Home Decor 7) Spaceport selling trips into orbit One of the above things is something that Canadian Tire does not offer... Even if you want to buy a Kayak... Canadian Tire has it.

This is one of my absolute favorite stores. Quality products. Not like a Walmart or Target at all. 10/10 🍁There is a reason Target flopped to n Canada. Epic fail

Last thing I bought at a Canadian Tire was a laundry hamper. 🙂 But I’ve also recently bought electrical plugs, a water bottle, batteries, a lamp, antifreeze, …and tires. Plus an oil change.
