  • Hi Bob and Jenny, nice sunny arrival. Poppies little face. The Crooked Inn , loved the chimney. The campsite looks very nice. Shame there are so many houses there. Looks a pretty village , thank you for sharing xx Julie and Tony xx

Great to see you both back in Hertfordshire (with some sunshine). That turning in Ashwell is ridiculous. Nice to see you are enjoying your new Motorhome. 👍👍 🏕

Love the "there's a car coming", "I don't care"! Made me laugh, been in that situation a few times!
  • Certainly don't need to watch the vlog to know when you have arrived!! Poppy announces your arrival to all!! X

We have the same awning as you, we purchased it from the MH show. The only issue I did not like was the elastic sides that bow away from the van. I didnt like the fact in the high winds it could easily be whipped away. But its like many other awnings. So I decided to make a insert that fills that gap that doesnt change the awning. From a old windbreak we created two 6 inch wide pieces with a loop to insert a pole. The extendable poles were off a previous bit of kit. I adjusted the top so it could slot behind the gap between the canopy and van. The bottom pegged down The sides clipped to the awning and the other had suckers for the van. Because the suckers were not under strain they stayed put. Worked well.

Hi guys. We have owned 2 x caravans and a motorhome and now a campervan. We have found awnings a real pain. Getting up in the middle of night to take it down or constantly hammering pegs in. One damaged our caravan. Rain and soaking wet canvas to pack away when moving sites. Tears in guy rope anchorage. Weight and size when wet. Finding somewhere to hang them up when home to dry . Gravel pitches. Space they take up etc. Lists go on. We can set up on a site in 10mins with a campervan. Spend our time watching people putting them up. What's your real experience with awnings. We like that site at Ashwell. Is the bakery still in the village? Remember having some lovely pastries and cakes from there. Thanks for another look around. 🙂🚐 Trev
  • Well done Bob and Jenny a great video as ever it looks a great park and a lovely area to explore I’ve been to a few places around that way like letchworth and baldock as my cousin and his wife lived in borehamwood and we visited them a lot Well done on those road works bob that entrance was really tight you did well to get round with the car on the back it’s awful everywhere at the moment always a load of road works think everyone has invested in a digger 😂 Bob if you want a nice low alcohol beer the Ghost Ship 0.5 are worth a try I like them and they are similar to the normal one and also Guinness 0 is good Glad you are both happy with Konnie she seems very smooth driving and towing seems no issue at all! All the best to you both and poppy Daniel
  • Hi Both, OMG my goodness Bob that road was just a little bit narrow to get down I hope you told the reception how narrow the road was but glad you both are having a nice time in spite of the start all the best to you both 💖👍🐕

  • @R-2o
Great video as always. Interesting to see you have a camera inside the fridge - must be a new feature of your new motorhome! 😂😂
  • Nice to see the updates at Ashridge and surrounding area's. Makes me want to visit Barnet again...and visit friends soon! Haven't been for a few years now!
  • @martingilligan
Clumber Park is hopeless for a mobile signal. Which is surprising given it's proximity to the A1..
  • @lorna8815
We are having a similar predicament as you…we have a garmin sat nav that has our dimensions and we have trusted wherever we have travelled…got a new Moho in March (Fiat) with a sat nav built in where we can put in our Moho dimensions however trialling both until we have the same level of confidence
  • Welcome back to our 'neck of the woods'! Try 'The Pig and Abbot' in Abington Pigotts - lovely grub and very dog friendly!
