He won an olimpic medal, then he returned home, he went to a restaurant and they denied him dinner.... And they wanted him to go to Vietnam to fight for "freedom"?

When I teach my students about Vietnam in history class I always bring up Muhammad Ali and what he did. My students love him.

This is the reason why Ali is The Greatest. He was a fighter in and out of the ring. Not compromising his beliefs was the best thing he did. War is not the answer.

one cannot imagine the pressure, stress and fear this man had to go through in order to take this stance and say these things in that period.but more importantly, the strength he had to have. wow just wow.
