Back when I was 19, my work foreman "Luigi" who was then, 50 years old, told me that the creative mind diminishes once a musician reaches the age of 30 ..... I remember thinking "He's full of shit" because I was so highly creative at that time that I just couldn't even conceive of myself, just melting away from the vast pools of creativity and exhausting my ongoing search for that void to where no man has ventured before and so eventually, I mustered up all of my creative processes and threw myself onto this platform and announced to the internet world "HERE I AM BABY .... SIGNED SEALED, DELIVERED ... YOU'RE MINE" ... and so far, this bold journey has taken me to .... absolutely nowhere ..... So .... what went wrong? ..... What went wrong was that Luigi was 100 percent correct and I just couldn't see it .... Was it the music itself? ..... Most people who comment positively on my songs, tell me that they all have an 80s vibe to them ... "3 decades out of temporal sync" and so what is it that has stopped the flow of my creativity and transformed me into this fossilized abyss of a forgotten and rejected time? ...... My LYRICS !!!! .... I write lyrics like an old man .... I'm trapped in an era of Clint Eastwood and Arnold and men with balls with absolutely no political correctness to their demeanor .... If I really wanted to advance myself with the times, I would have by now, typed a Youtube search for Taylor Swift and forced myself to see and hear, what this millennial girl has to say but ..... I don't give a shit what she has to say and so it look's like my journey is SWIFTly coming to the end ..... I sat back and pondered over writing some updated lyrics such as "I KNEEL For My FLAG And SIT While I Pee" or "I'm Sorry For BEING WHITE But My POOP Is Still Of COLOR" ..... or "I NEED A GIRL Who CAN BLAME It All On ME But I'M JUST NOT WORTHY Of HER HATRED" ..... but until that time come's when I can shed my old ways and write something that Youtube won't dismantle, I've decided to take the old man's route and perform .... COVERS !!!!! ....... So much easier for me to do .... No thought behind the lyrics .... Just follow the words and sing along ..... So .... if anyone has a problem with this song, they can take it up with Peter, Paul and Mary and then perhaps they can explain to everyone why this song is so thoughtlessly exclusive of Kilometers and the entire metric system.

    Hi Stephen.....Loved your 'COVER' of this song...welcome to the world of 'old men'....You've given this song your own spin... Your voice reminds me of late 50's Canadian singer 'Jack Scott'....'What in the World's Come over you.'... Today's chart music is beyond anyone over 23...but there is a lot of music required (without lyrics) for TV, Film, and Advertising. Don't forget...there are many many independent TV film makers and studios....so some demo's going to them might help. On the song titles you'd thought of...you forgot my favourite...'How Can I tell you I love you....When you're sitting on my Face'... Hang on in there....I've backtracked 30+ years in my search for inspiration...back to messing around with the Keyboards Drum and Accompaniment at different tempo's to see if it throws any inspiration...Yea...not brilliant...but I'm happy messing around like that for some minimal success...
