On a scale of disconnected boredom to joyful interest, this video was an 11.

I have no idea why youtube recommended this, but the video was fantastically interesting
  • My son (5) and I watch your videos every evening before bed. A beautiful engine and so interesting to see how it works.
  • The finish on this live steam locomotive is amazing. The build looks perfect : that's a very beautifull loco. Well done. I can't even imagine the tools needed and the hours spent on this little machine.

A few years ago, I watched someone prep a full size steam locomotive for service and didn't really understand what he was doing. This was very informative and easy to follow.

I love the attention to detail with the tea can and mugs on the shelf above the firebox door ☺

I cannot believe I just watched this full video, what a brilliant little machine that is - and a super explanation!

What a neat model! The motions look superb, and even the details simply could not be any better. I half expected you to top up that enamel tea pot as well!

That engine is just breathtaking, absolutely brilliant.

This video is really informative - I've enjoyed seeing the 'behind the scenes' at your garden railway, with a very clear explanation of how everything works! I am looking forward to seeing more similar videos soon! - Ziyad
  • What really really impresses me is the engineering and build of this amazing Steam Locomotive, it can't be easy to make such a fine model at this scale, what an absolute beauty !

All I see is a human being enjoying an amazing hobby - no hate, no negativity, just enjoying life - lovely to watch!:)

I'm so glad the YouTube suggestion algorithm decided I was the type of person who'd like steam locomotives. It keeps giving me things like this and I've learned so much.

Exceptionally functional and detailed locomotive. Everything works. Everything has to be actually maintained. Never seen anything like it.

I absolutely adore miniature locomotives, this made me so happy to watch. Thank you for making this well paced video full of concise and earnest commentary and lots of angles.

I just found this video, and wow. Bongo is equally beautiful and adorable. She looks like a well built, well cared for, well loved little engine. I loved all the cab detail; most minis that I've seen tend to not do that. Everything is out of scale to make it easier to handle and read, so I was delighted by everything not only being in scale but functional too!

Absolutely beautiful boiler, gauges, piping etc. Amazing.

Fascinating video, great craftsmanship in making such a beautiful engine. Imagine working on a steam engine for your full time job and then when your holiday comes up you work on your miniature engine, like a busman’s holiday.

I got all of your books + you signed them all (you inspired me to go into engineering).
