Inside The F4U-4 Corsair

Published 2024-07-10
The F4U-4 Corsair holds the record for the longest production run of any American piston-engine fighter. Designed in 1939, its service life extended until the late 1970s. Remarkably, its final aerial victory occurred in 1969, long after the advent of jet fighters. This video highlights the F4U-4 model, the last variant produced by the original designers, Chance-Vought. This version saw action from the concluding battles of World War II through the Korean War.
