Making a track saw is easy. All you need to get started is a table saw.

The candle wax idea is spot on. An ancient method that works really good and it is still used today in shipyards.

This is the BEST DIY track saw idea I have seen. Saved!
  • I've been building these tools for years BUT never with the metal track. That is incredible thankyou for sharing. It improves an OK plan to a great plan. I will be building them like yours from now on. This tool makes cutting sheets of plywood much safer for one person, as opposed to using a table saw. It also means there is no $1000 dollar table saw left on the job site when there's no one around. That was common practice in the past.
  • Perfecta!! Ésta es la guía para sierra más fácil y práctica que he visto. Recomendable 100% !! 👍👍👍

I have looked at many different types of guide, made one myself but this one seems to be the best idea, so simple, I shall make one just like this, thank you for the idea!
  • I like how your mind works. I'm inspired to use creativity and ingenuity more in my hobbies.

Incredibly impressed by this video. I will definitely be building this for my circ saw. Thank you for the brilliant idea here.

Можно проще и не хуже,но вы для себя делаете инструмент и вам виднее,что лучше для вас. Хорошая профессиональная работа. Благодарю. Усть Лабинск

mmk. seems overly complicated to me. I just screwed the channel onto a piece of plywood and let the saw define the edge. I don't have any tablesaw or drill press to create this.

That's incredible and I know even at my level, I could make it. Thank you!

Great video. I like how there’s no talking, just doing. Thanks for letting us follow along and not have to keep skipping through any of it!
  • It's what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. The ability to make woodworking tools!
  • Thank you so much for this! Racking my brain on how to do better than using a 2”x8’ piece of metal and a circular saw and now I know!

Looks like a good alternative to other methods. What sets a great DIY method is knowing what you are suppose to do. Silent videos without comment and explanation doesnot help one to successfully duplicate the demonstrated process, so DIY becomes a trial and error process. An exact replica of this tracksaw or any other is only possible with detailed information. Great video and bravo for the owner but again I will prefer a track saw that I can build to exact specification. 👍
