Huawei Mate 20 X - Returning due to Screen Dimming

Published 2019-03-24
This is my Mate 20 X after it's reset & about to be returned, due to screen dimming in apps like Chrome, Twitter, Google Playstore and in random settings screens. Why are no big phone reviewers highlighting this issue? Great hardware across their entire range but terrible software. Never again Huawei.

I have a huawei Y6 Pro and it's ridiculous. It's fine when the colours are bright, but when the colours are dark or if I'm watching a movie and there is a dark scene, the brightness lowers automatically to the point where I can't see anything. It's the same if I'm playing games or something. The more darkness there is on the screen, the darker the screen brightness becomes. It's a completely stupid feature and needs to be removed. I'm not going to change any time soon as it isn't important, but it's incredibly annoying when I'm trying to watch a video and the brightness is changing all the time, sometimes dimming to the point where the screen is totally black

Naah, this shit keeps happening on the Honor/Huawei devices. It is called as dynamic brightness adjustment depending on the background. It cannot be eliminated normally since it is hidden deeply in the Color OS/EMUI. This is the reason why my eyes hurt after 10 minutes of seeing their screens. That was the reason why I sold the Mate 10 Pro and Mate 20 after 2 weeks of their use.
