I had an ultra compact Ultralamina which unfortunately they don’t make any more.. I love that Mountain Hardware makes a short version, it’s amazing other brands don’t. When you have a more snug fit you’re maximising the heat efficiency instead of having wasted space that can get cold.

I have a left and right zipper laminas but can’t figure out how to zip them together. Can you please show us.
  • Have you had any experience with Lamina 0ºF? I want to believe they are similar enough that most of the info you've given applies.

After many years of use, I can tell you that the lamination is not holding. the outer and inner layers and insulation mat are not fixed together anymore, so it's possible that the insulation shifts. But I can't say that it doesn't work anymore... And I always loved this sleeping bag. It's comfy, and has a good temperature/weight ratio. Maybe the first generation of this sl.bag, which I have, had more strength issues in the welds, that were solved in the following generations? I also experienced that with the first generation of the neo air of therm-a-rest. The seams tended to loosen too, leaving you with a big bladder to lay on 😄 (exchanged in warranty)... I will probably buy a new Lamina, although I'm also doubting about a cat's meow from The North Face. Anyone more arguments to help me make this choice?
