This is the world’s first fully autonomous car for ride-hailing created by Waymo. While we were in San Francisco, we had to go and check out the autonomous vehicles that have been picking people up across the Californian city.

The all-electric fleet of self-driving cars works exactly like paid ride hailing apps, minus the driver.

Alex was able to see the future of ride-hailing in action, and we cannot wait to see technology like this roll out to new cities in the future!

Huge thanks to ‪@Waymo‬!

I’ve been using waymo for over 3 years in phoenix. The days of Uber and Lyft are numbered. Every drive I’ve taken is a good drive. Truly incredible and lucky to be one of the first to use it daily.

Ive used Waymo, 12 times when I went to Phoenix, all 12 times, it was super smooth, safe ride, defo would totally use this over a real taxi.

I am pretty sure that the Robotaxi is gonna look a lot cooler. The Waymo looks a sick as hell!
  • The camera shake transition at the beginning of the ride was perfect :))) It looked like someting smashed into the taxi :)))

I ride Waymo weekly! It’s incredible, safe, smooth… I don’t think I’ve ordered an Uber in months. It’s a shame but I 100% agree with SCB – the human element of ride share is often the worst/scariest one :(

I've used it in Phoenix a couple times. My advice to everyone, if you're going to a busy bar or restaurant, go to a nearby, empty location. The vallet was clearly unhappy and it caused chaos in the bar/restaurant parking lot 😂

so cool that you stopped near my neighborhood. I'm guessing waymo is stationed around there. Good thing about waymo is you don't have to worry about tipping.

It would be interesting to know what the car would do in a life and death situation. For example, if the passenger has an heart attack, would it automatically take him/her to the nearest hospital or alert paramedics ?

Yes, no problem, I would feel safe. Waiting to have them perfect snow ❄️ stormy weather too. In Toronto. Thanks
  • Glad to see you filming “Truely” special cars that have different “Special” functions. The tornado car is also cool.

I'm glad that this company is talking about expanding their business to Japan. A lot of cities in Japan has a labor shortage in their Transportation Sector (they're in need of a lot of bus, taxi, and truck drivers.) And because of that; Japan has been forced to allow a lot of low skilled foreigners from poor and dangerous countries to come to work and live in Japan this past decade. Which has unfortunately caused an increase of crimes in some Japanese cities. Innovation and technology like this can fix that type of problem in Japan and other countries that have are also facing this type of issue.
