This piece is something I keep coming back to, because I listened to it the first time when you released it 5 months ago (I know this is a reimagining of a track that already existed). The first time I listened to it was while I was trying to get some work done between taking care of my dad. He had just been sent home from the hospital for Hospice care, and the way his cancer had begun to overwhelm his body, we were taking care of him around the clock. I stayed on the couch of my family's home so I would be close enough to my parents room to hear his moans in the middle of the night as he tried to make the sounds that signaled he needed water, or to go to the bathroom. I was drained, and yet still needed to disconnect for an hour to get some work done. I played some of your music for background music, but then this track hit, one I never heard before. It filled me with a feeling of hope, a reminder that my father built me for this moment. That he had raised me to face catastrophe and trauma with courage, something that he did to make it through his own brutal upbringing. This song means a lot to me because every time I listen to it I am reminded of the time my family and I pushed through the hardest 2 weeks of our lives.
