So... mask time travels. The spirit that inhabits Chloe also time travels. Mask went from Hero -> Shizu -> Rimuru -> Chloe. Chloe might be the hero that saves and teaches Shizu? She already loves Rimuru, the spirit that took over her had long black hair like her and also seems to love Rimuru.

That demon that Black took out looks a lot like Belphemon. At first I thought the last story was the main character when it was just a flashback. Which would mean the story ends, so far at least, on a low note with a nice little story of kids being saved. Not much of a big battle or anything. Not a typical end for such an anime, which implies that there should be more to the story of the main character.
