Context: Chapter 1: behind the scenes Singapore Airlines flight 6 was a Boeing 747-412 registered as 9V-SPK, on October 31st 2000 the plane was departing from Singapore headed to Los Angeles via Chiang Kai-Shek in taiwan, it had to depart before the crosswind hit 30 knots, the wind was already 29 knots, if it hit 30, the crew would have to abandon their takeoff. Chapter 2: Taxiing to runway 5L The plane pushbacked from gate B5 and was taxiing via Sierra Sierra, West Cross, and November papa, crossing runway 5R, the pilot actually thought he would go from East Cross, November 7, then November Papa, after turning to the start of runway 5L and 5R, the pilot taxiied so slow that he thought the reached runway 5L, the massive 747 turned onto the wrong runway. Chapter 3: IMPACT!!! The pilot set the throttle to “TO-GA,” (means 100% throttle), the 747 accelerated down the runway, at 80 knots, the F/O shouted out “V1,” the pilot took note and said back “V1,” the plane was accelarating down at 145 knots, they saw some outlines of some concrete barriers and construction vehicles, the plane hit the equipment at 149 knots, the nose gear ripped off, and the plane got split in 3 pieces, the 1 part that got split was the left wing, causing fuel to ignite and kill people in the fuselage section, the tail cleanly ripped off from the Boeing 747, the most deaths was in the fuselage, and everyone in the tail section survived. Chapter 4: CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) Cockpit: Captian: Let me know when it hits 30 F/O: 29, almost 30 Captian: Ok, thrust left to-ga to-ga F/O: V1 Also Captian: V1 This is also the Captian: THERE’S SOMETHING THERE! You know who it is (Captian): WAAAAA Chapter 5: Cause of the crash The cause of the crash was due to pilot error, and lighting error. You already know how the pilot error happened in chapter 2 i think, but lets talk about lighting error. In singapore, they would only light up the lights for the aircraft taxiing, but in taiwan, everything was lit up, and also the taxiway light to guide to runway 5L was malfunctioning cause of the typhoon, leading to the plane turning onto the wrong runway. Extra Chapter: dude wtf? The pilots got fired and the ATC was the one to blame. Idk how they blamed the ATC even tho its not their fault. The End. (PLS PIN I TOOK SO LONG TO MAKE THIS)
