QUINLAN ROAD / LOREENA MCKENNITT: While we periodically reach out through social media, it’s something we do by default. In general, we do not endorse social media. Since 1998, the unregulated era of technology has all but decimated traditional media, which we feel is more accountable to a civil society. We’re also learning that digital technologies are responsible for 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, a figure expected to double by 2025. We therefore plan to continue advocating for a responsible and accountable media in whatever form that may take. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay in touch through the closest and most direct method possible, our email list. loreenamckennitt.com/community/

Anyone who came here after watching shweta singing malayalam song from urumi.
  • Loreena is the only artist whose fan club I have joined.  She manages herself, produces her recordings, writes and arranges the music and the words, also plays multiple instruments and is one of the best vocalists ever, in a unique style.  She creates a soundscape unlike any other.  The praise seen in the other comments is well deserved.

  • This glancing life is like a morning star A setting sun, or rolling waves at sea A gentle breeze or lightning in a storm A dancing dream of all eternity The sand was shimmering in the morning light And dancing off the dunes so far away The night held music so sweet, so long And there we lay until the break of day We woke that morning at the onward call Our camels bridled up, our howdahs full The sun was rising in the eastern sky Just as we set out to the desert's cry Calling, yearning, pulling, home to you The tents grew smaller as we rode away On earth that tells of many passing days The months of peace and all the years of war The lives of love and all the lives of fears Calling, yearning, pulling, home to you We crossed the river beds all etched in stone And up the mighty mountains ever known Beyond the valleys in the searing heat Until we reached the caravanserai Calling, yearning, pulling, home to you Calling, yearning, pulling, home to you What is this life that pulls me far away What is that home where we cannot reside What is that quest that pulls me onward My heart is full when you are by my side Calling, yearning, pulling, home to you

My English is very poor, but this music, the voice is so poignant, heartbreaking, yet soothing at the same time... I feel great strength and pain in it. With love from Latvia.

Everything about her music, her lyrics, her voice is divine! The world is a better place because of her. Her music can cure a broken soul...

At the end of 2022, this style never gets old, I love this song 🖤
  • @arizu3989
I am a latin man, from Costa Rica. 🇨🇷.. But this celtic influence music, is fantastic. Brings peace and love.. And you are a lovely woman..
  • Why is this a masterpiece? Because everything is perfect: the scenery, more beautiful than any concert hall in the world. Musicians: by the best of their own. The rythm and the melody that makes me travel to arabian territories. Loreena has the unique talent to modernise and universalise and enrich ancient tunes. My only problem is...to come back To the real world when the song is over. Lorreena, carry on ! Dont stop the caravan!
  • Whenever I am asked which is my favorite musical instrument I answer, “Loreena McKennitt’s Voice”.

In a little hole-in-the-wall "New Age" shop in Capitola, California, Summer of 1994, I was instantly mesmerized by the music playing in the background. The song was All Soul's Night, and at 15 years old, I wanted to hear more. I had to hear more. That voice, that angelic power, reached me to my very core. So I asked the Shopkeep who the singer was, and if they had any of her music in stock. They pointed me to a stack of cassettes, I bought the first one I touched, and I asked my parents to play it on the 2 hour car ride home. And that was when I became a fan of Loreena McKennitt. Probably not a lot of 15 year old boys find themselves thoroughly enjoying this particular genre of music, but I never let genre, trends, or anything else dictate my taste in music. If something truly speaks to me, I listen. Loreena's music got me through a lot of teenage angst, a lot of unrequited love, a lot of heartache. Somehow her voice strengthened my hope and resolve, even at my darkest moments. I am eternally grateful. Twenty-nine years (and several albums) later, and I am still a big fan. Every time I listen to The Visit, I feel like I'm 15 again, listening to each song for the very first time. It's like a favorite painting, enjoying it over and again, and no matter how many times I look at it, I still manage to discover some new detail that I missed the last time. Loreena's music is timeless: if I had just now discovered The Visit, knowing nothing else about the album, I would honestly think that it had just recently been recorded and released. It was released 32 years ago!
