8 Quickhits paid $450 instead of $2,200 because the person DIDN'T MAX BET!! 9 Quickhits would have paid $48,000 if MAX BET!

cont'd: If every single spin has an equal odds of hitting the JP (hence the need to max bet), then the payout information is almost useless. If there is a machine that pays out jackpot after jackpot (which there isn't), then it makes sense to max bet on very single spin. But I still have to believe (with my own eyes for 15 years playing) that jackpots comes in cycles as winning combs. come and go. It is a matter of knowing the payout history and doing the guess work.

Once again, I was at the Hilton today in Las Vegas and the guy sitting behind me hits 7 Quickhits for $30 instead of $168 because he didn't max bet!

@MATTMANAZ1 Actually I like the people who don't max bet on QH machines. These machines are designed to frequently pay. So I have a better chance of winning because they don't max bet because I will always max bet on this type of machine.

The max bet vs. no max bet is one of the biggest controversy in slots and it can only grow with the many more video slots coming out. Personally, I usually try to play the max bet but it depends on many other factors like my bankroll, remaining credit, etc...I run out of money too soon for almost all of the time that I max bet. So I can empathize with this player b/c I have seen it happen way too many times, inc. to myself. It is hard to say in hindsight and this RNG is another issue.
  • 99% is luck. The other half is max betting. 8-)) True, you should max bet since max betting gives you the chance at the progressive which can increase the potential payback percentage of the machine. Still, I have had quality play time and have often walked away on the plus side while the people beside me empty their bankrolls trying to hit the progressive. A lot depends on the size of your bankroll (ie. money management). Playing the base game with lower payback is still fun for me.

he didnt lose more cause he didnt max bet, the odds are not the same. the random number generator paid $450. the odds are way more to hit max win. the computer knows how many lines and coins are playing and odds and pays are based off that.
  • @PimpMasterT
the only machine worth max betting, and maybe $1 wheel of fortune -.-
  • @Ribbo
Except you're wrong. If he had bet max bet he would have hit the start button at a different time therefore the outcome would have been different.

Actually this person or anyone else should be glad....the machine paid $450.00! Slots are timing, plain and simple. Whatever you did, it wanted to pay the $450. Not a jackpot. It drives me nuts when people bitch about other people that didn't play max, because you are absolutely wrong if you think it would have made a difference. If you would have played max, it have been at a split second different moment, with a different result. $450! Congratulations.

It's foolish not to play max on a progressive slot, because you don't avail yourself of the maximum payout odds. Those who don't want to spend that much per spin are better off playing one of the many non-progressive slots. Of course they are only hurting themselves, it's not affecting any other players.

@jcalderin86 Seconds 0:01 to 0:04 of this video clearly show the progressive payouts for each of the quickhit combos with max bets. Perhaps you should know what you are talking about before you get snippy with other posters, genius.
