Longwood woman faces midnight deadline to unclog cement-filled drainpipe

Published 2024-08-07
Seminole County Code Enforcement ordered the homeowner who clogged a stormwater pipe in the Shadow Bay Community to fix the issue by Wednesday, Aug. 7.
If she doesn’t meet deadline, the owner will be taken to special magistrate court on Sept. 12.

If she thought the drain was illegal, she should have filed a lawsuit against the entity that installed it instead of flooding the neighbor's yards. Now the neighbors hate her and she faces lawsuits from neighbors, the city and possibly others. This is truly the work of a narcissist.

Sue her for all the damages to everything. Intentional stupidity must be punished

This seems to be a great example of why civil court exists. This lady didn't accidentally cause an issue, she did it intentionally and with foresight. It'll be interesting to see how the lawsuits play out - she's already being sued by the HOA.

City should fix the drain and send her the bill. Hurricane season coming, street and cellars will be a mess.

This drain was a public easement. Why does the town not go in rip out the drain cover and be done with all of this? Stop making the people of the neighborhood wait for intervention.

How selfish can you be? Why are they waiting until mid September to take her to court. They should have done that immediately after she filled in the storm drain.

I had an idiot neighbor who did a similar thing…she was so pissed off at her husband she decided to leave him…she decided to “send him a message” by pouring quick Crete down the toilets and flushing…completely FD up the plumbing ….heres the BEST PART: she couldn’t afford to rent a house and had to go back to the house NOBODY would buy for obvious reasons. She had to take a second mortgage on the house for the 60K repair for her little “message to her husband” who divorced her and left her the house 😂😂😂
  • The fact that this station has a count down going speaks volumes. She has created a public health and safety hazzard, yet the government is waiting for her to act. The rules of imminent domain surely apply.

Last person i seen do something like this, they ended up losing their home cause of stupidity over a pipe. 🤣😂 These towns will get you. Can't fight town hall

She probably thought it was a sassy move at first - not so easy to remove that cement now 😅
  • The irony of this situation is little Ms Narcissist didn’t take into account is her eyesore drain grate is still there. She thought her lawn was torn up before, just wait. And now let’s add up the fines and lawsuit or lawsuits. This is a perfect example of working strictly from emotions. I’m not sure about every state or local municipality but the multiple ones I lived in all had understandable regulations about water shed. Regardless of land ownership or not, you were not allowed to stop the flow of water or change the pattern of it without engineering approval to keep it from having adverse affects. (This being the perfect example)

If he dug a hole and put a Home Depot bucket in it then he could put the pump in that and then pump earlier
  • @Crangaso
Ain't no way she's gonna be able to "Unclog" the drain pipe she CEMENTED closed.

Why aren't they giving out this woman's name? Also, I thought I heard that she had hired people to do this, shouldn't they realize this was probably going to cause problems and be illegal?
  • @zcvxs
Lawsuits against her must be exhausted
  • Send her the bill. The insurance companies should be suing her also for unnecessary payouts. So incredibly self centered.
