This channel should be a Unesco heritage site.

I wasn't planning on doing episode 4 of my Winners and Losers series, until I came up with this idea. Something I thought was a little different, and could be interesting, UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Originally I was worried it was too soon after the last episode, only to discover the 3rd one was in 2017! How time flies. So I hope everyone likes the new episode, it was a lot of fun to make, and has given me about 50 new places that are on my bucket list! There are so many stunning locations I had never even heard of. Once again, this video is sponsored by the awesome CuriosityStream. Sign up for a 31-day free trial at curiositystream.com/wonderwhy and enter the promo code "wonderwhy". You will be helping support this channel by signing up. The documentary I recommend at the end of this video is called "Wild Galapagos" and is well worth a watch. As always, free feel to leave suggestions for the next episode... which will probably be in like 2024 or something. Thanks for watching!

Fun Fact: Mexico City has 6 different places considered World Heritage Site inside the city, in an area of less than 800 km2 making it probably one of the places with more density of world heritage sites in the world. -Mexico City Historic Center -Xochimilco -Ancient City of Teotihuacán -UNAM Campus -Luis Barragán House and Studio -The Camino Real de Tierra Adentro There are also two more places that have already been presented to the UNESCO and are in process to be considered a World Heritage Site: -Chapultepec Forest, Hill and Castle -Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo House and Studio With this we would have 8 different World Heritage Site declarations in the same city, the same amount as whole countries like Hungary, Finland or Sri Lanka, and just to sites ahead of the Netherlands or Denmark...in the same city. By the way, rhe Luis Barragan House is also one of the smallest heritage places in the world,as it is also an individual house.
  • In my opinion Bhutan should be a UNESCO world heritage site itself
  • @peterd647
I’ve lost track of how many UNESCO World Heritage Sites we’ve visited, most not even mentioned here. Amazing how many there are. Thanks for putting it in perspective and explaining how it works. Great video.
  • It's weird having some Scottish guy on the Internet that I've never seen talk about a bridge I see every week at 14:53. Greetings from Dresden :D
