R.I.P. guys, we miss you. Thanks for the memories.
  • Nice to see Rick with Alan instead of Francis all the while talking about the band
  • Ahhhhh....The End Of The Road Gig at MK Bowl back in '84.....As a Kid we lived about a mile away at the time and went down there, got in and I was absolutely blown away!!! I couldn't believe that this would be the first and last time I got to experience the Quo tearing the stage up. Thankfully, this was incorrect and have been lucky enough to see them many, many times over the years but the second best gig has to be the FF Reunion at Hammersmith. The first being MK Bowl, of course.

You can see Rick didn't like being interrupted by Alan at around the 2:45 mark. Personally, I think Rick had finished his point, and it was fair for Alan to answer further, however Rick looks annoyed at not being able to finish. I believe drugs and egos around this time were part of the reason for the initial Status Quo split, and the tension at that point in this interview shows an example of it. It's also shows that there was some resentment around, that wasn't just between Francis and Alan.

hahaha last tour thats why im gonna see them tonight

0:43 "I know nothing about charlie" 2:12 "it's not true of course". I don't think Rick like AL talking about how he and Francis Rossi started off the band.

the interviewer, what was his name, mark something (?), stirred it up to begin with, by bringin up the school days "where quo started", which was long before they met rick. but u can still see a bit of the old magic when they look at each otehr n laugh a coupla times
  • @bryemycaz
Thing is Rick was right, at the time they couldnt stand the site of one another.
  • @winkingwolf
quo died the day alan and john left in my book

I think you might be reading to much into it. Add laughter to it and it would actually be rather comical. Rick seems more embarased sitting there with the arms in the air on his way to say something with no option to actually speak (short of being rude to Alan :P ). But sure, you are right, there was most likely tention, but he would have looked equaly unconfortable if Francis had interupted him. Its actually more like a married couple filling in on each other :P
  • yeah they were prices. I agree. expectaully blowing their money on drugs and cars instead of thinking about their wife's & children. all they were thinking about were themselves. why did they bother to get married and become dad's then if it's not what they wanted.
  • well rick seemed like he was polite and happy but abit of a prat when came to drink n drugs.
