Mitoma probably has one of the most unique and strange journeys to becoming a professional footballer that I’ve ever seen. From being recognized at a young age as a skilled prodigy within Japan who dreamed of one day making it to the pros only and eventually being offered a legitimate professional footballing contract – to then turn around and instead pursue a degree in sports science.

But why not accept the contract and start your career right? Well, it’s a lot more complicated than that. Because as crazy as that sounds, it seems like it’s starting to pay off. And now with Mitoma finally starting to make a name for himself in the global and European stage just in the past few months alone – I think it’s time you all heard his story.

  • Mitoma has been on fire lately 🤯 That goal against Liverpool is easily one of the best goals I’ve ever seen. He’s a joy to watch 🔥 Leave a like if you enjoyed and let me know what you want next! Love yall ❤️
  • @ghandibanks
He's one of the best dribblers of the new generation

Hes gonna have a fantastic career as a player, probably has hope as a manager if bros studied sports science and is capable enough during his player career and literally write a thesis on such stuff
  • His hut trick in Belgium was phonomenal. He started to play from 2nd half with one man down with 0-2. And He made the team win.
  • "Take your time to master your craft" I like this quote. Mitoma truly understand himself and he understand how to achieve his best. Most of young talent would always rush their future resulting in heavy injury that end severely hinders their performance or, worse, got caught in night hedonistic life. I hope Mitoma can become Japan's Messi and serve as inspiration for the next generation to come
  • his thesis is also an important contribution to the japanese football young talents, i hope many young player gets inspired by his effort and time sacrifice
  • My older brother is kind of a Mitoma. He was an incredible box to box midfielder (perhaps the best in the entire city) but also is incredibly gifted with intelligence. His coach (Fernando "Wrinkles" Castro) asked my mom to convince him to play because he was going to be the best but my brother was determined to become a doctor and now is one of the very best MD specialists of all europe (and we are from Colombia)

Always believed that he would be a worldclass player someday, but I never thought that he would actually reach to this level this fast. It's really been a crazy 3 year ride of following his football carrer from the J-league here in Japan up to Premier league
  • @dmoney9920
I love Japan and all their players. So much respect to the game
  • @TheZuluman7
I admired the "never give up" spirit of Japan football team at he World Cup and Mutomo was a huge factor for the team's success.
  • Probably the best idea. A lot of journeyman players like him don't really know what to do after finishing their career. But with the sports science degree and as well as his experience is a player he can definitely find a position in any club
  • Kaoru Mitoma is easily my favorite Japan player along with Takumi Minamino
  • Man is literally a sports anime protag. I'm actually going to start watching Brighton games from now on just for him, what an unusually cool way to go about your football career. Also thank you for reminding me that I still have to watch blue lock. Every other sports got a cool anime about it, it's about time football got one too.
  • @aalapkr7229
Mitoma is like Main character 💡+ 🔥+⚡.
  • This man showed something incredible that is alien to most sports fans. Study and Theory > Natural talent and practice A path that is rarely tried and rarely executed in such an amazing manner As mentioned, he is neither the fastest nor the strongest nor the most naturally gifted player, but he uses his mega mind to optimize every scenario he finds himself in. He doesn't intuitively dribble but instead has an entire systematized and theory driven dribbling style. This man is literally computing on the pitch and thinking about his moves before he makes them.
  • Hes what you call a generational talent. Along side a few youngesters like Musiala, Bellingham, Endrick etc.
  • @Leetbeast
Yeah Mitoma is insane!! love him!! he could become worlds best!!
  • Thanks Raymar for the video on Mitoma! I hope you make a video on Hidetoshi Nakata too. Hidetoshi Nakata's journey was the first and most anime-like story ive seen... He was the one paved the way for Honda, Shinji, and Mitoma. Legendary.
  • @Hamzz25
mitoma has been amazing this season. the fact that he got a degree in dribbling and now is balling like this is crazy
