Synopsis | Princess Diana's final hours (1997)
The bald facts are known. Princess Diana was killed in a car, travelling at speed, by a drunken driver fleeing photographers. But now the funeral is over, the recriminations are beginning. Reporting from Paris, Richard Carleton pieces together the last hours in the life of Princess Diana. Talking with Paris bar owners he tells of the unstable, drink-loving man who drove Diana to her death, to the security man who should have been by the Princess' side, to those at the accident scene and those who shouldn't have been -- the photographers who chased Diana's Mercedes into the Paris tunnel, then snapped away as doctors tried to help the dying Princess.

  • When the bodyguard was interviewed, he said the driver was NOT “drunk”. Other evidence also suggest that -even though he had had alcohol earlier that evening, he showed no sign of being drunk.

Her life wasn’t a fairytale but she was the Queen of hearts ❤

The only thing we know for sure is that three people died and one lived. We will never know exactly what happened.

One thing (of many) that I found so odd…if Henri Paul had drank a bottle and 1/2 of wine, he was conversing normally, bending down, tying his shoe, not stumbling. I don’t know but I think he was the scapegoat of a bigger plan. Just so very sad. She did so much good and Dodi had his entire future in front of him.😔
  • The audacity of Lezlie Verez, (French paparazzi photographer/ vulture,) to say what he said in this interview, is absolutely disgusting; with no shame, nor regard for the family’s of Princess Diana, Dodi, or Honorary Paul. I am appalled. Like most of the world, I will never forget the moment when I learned of that horrific incident. Within a month, I believe, the world lost Mother Teresa, Giani Versace, and Princess Diana. That year, it was a very sad end to summer. 💔😞

I was 18 when this happened. I remember watching the news like it was yesterday. ❤ i was named after her.

RIP, Diana. She was a beautiful person inside and out. And a wonderful Mom.
  • She really was a real princesa and accepted by the 99 % of worldwide population to being the naturai leading queen of UK ❤

Actual vultures have an excuse for what they do. "Human" vultures have no defense …
  • so tragic…I will (along with many other people) remember exactly what I was doing when I first heard the news 💔😿

It's just like Diana to be thinking of others even when she should have been more worried about herself.....because the paps weren't worried about her well-being. Rest in heaven you beautiful Angel!

12:58 You can tell by his face he knows he is partly to blame. He also said the driver was drunk, after previously saying he wasn't drunk...

We all loved and miss Diana . Her life was so sad after marrying a. “Prince”. She would have stayed loyal to the Royal Family. But it was doomed from the start, my heart still aches when I think of it all.

How her life was taken, isn’t important it’s how her life was valued! It wasn’t valued well enough. Paparazzi never gave her a moments peace even when asked to go they returned like a pack of wolves 🐺 on a hunt. Her brother said it best “ The girl given the name as the goddess of hunting; was the most hunted person of modern time” 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
  • @tinamdobson
Wow. What an a$$. I don't believe he was drunk and I've often heard it said that the monarchy was terrified she'd marry Dodi. I don't think we'll every truly know. But the driver doesn't bear primary responsibility for this.
  • There's only one question that to this day has never been answered why did they leave the hotel in the first place. They had security and luxurious accommodation and people there to help them. I certainly wouldn't say no to any of that given to me for nothing too !!
