Jurors in the Karen Read trial went home for the weekend after telling the judge Friday that they couldn’t agree, only to be told to keep trying. The jury must decide whether prosecutors have proven that Read drunkenly and angrily slammed into her Boston police officer boyfriend with her Lexus SUV and left him to die. The defense challenged the evidence and suggested that one or more colleagues killed John O’Keefe, dumped his body outside in a panic and then framed Read to cover it up. Hannah Cotter has the latest.

The jury split as detailed in the Foreperson’s note, was exactly “some” on one side and “others” on the opposite side. I hope the jurors talk to the new, news people, those, who are covering this case with social media channels!
  • The O'Keefe family should demand a new law in John's name that allows testimony to be read back to the jury because the testimony of the SERT team leader that the jury asked about clearly proves that Karen Read is guilty.
