One trick that a plumber taught me for cleaning cisterns and toilets in a completely natural but effective way - without chemicals.
My cistern wasn't even very dirty, but his recommendation is that you maintain the cistern in this way from the very beginning to prevent scale build-up. If you have an old cistern, it is possible that it will leak after this if it is leaking water somewhere and the scale keeps those holes blocked. If the water boiler is correct, then you can clean it regularly like this and the toilet bowl itself will be cleaner. You can drain the water from the cistern, turn the tap so that it doesn't fill up again, then pour hot water, vinegar and citric acid and let it stand for an hour, or you can add vinegar and citric acid to the cistern like I did. It depends on how dirty it is.
