My name is Mack, and I'm an alcoholic. And anyone reading this, is the first to hear me admit it.

372 days clean, sober and serene today.
  • I’m Joe alcoholic My last drink was the 04/03/2019 and I haven’t drank since I’m now 3 years 5 months sober ODAAT 🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank god
  • Mike alcoholic/addict. I’m on day 75. Found something in my apartment that was a tool from when I was using. I freaked out. Heart went into my throat. I immediately washed off the remains and threw it away. Went to go to a meeting and it had been cancelled and the app now updated. So on my drive home I’m out Alcoholics Anonymous into my you tube and found this. It worked. This will get me to my 7am meeting. Thankyou AA and this beautiful fellowship of drunks. I’d be lost without you.

4 days sober and I like the clarity and mostly calmness. Went driving for errands and suddenly, I had the old thought, "I'm relaxed, it's Friday, I could go pick up a pint". Yet, Immediately after that I realized how much better I feel, plus, the sense of accomplishment. So...I drove on home. I know it's only been 4 days. Each day I hold onto the fragility of what I'm doing.

Anthony Hopkins gave up drinking when he was 38. My great uncle also gave up drinking when he was 38. His brother, my grandfather, who I never met, was also an alcoholic and died of liver cirrhosis when he was 49. My great uncle is still alive and completely healthy. That is the magnitude of the decision to continue drinking. If you have a problem, be real with yourself and do something about it now before it's too late - you never know how much time you have left to decide.

I met Tony H. (Silence of the Lambs) at my first World Convention in San Diego in '95. I have kept things simple, one day at a time and today celebrate 11,073 days.
  • Today is my 17th day without alcohol. Thank you for the video. I shed a few tears. Very powerful.

I'm coming up on 10 months, but I almost relapsed today. All I can say is there is a God.

I took the plunge 3 days ago. It is hell but will be worth it! Please pray for me! I hope the anxiety, shakes, headaches and feeling like my heart is going to explode will stop soon!

I am struggling. After 35 years of being in and out of AA, never getting a year of sobriety, I finally managed to get 15 months - then picked up again in November 2018. I've been in the insanity since then. Thank you to all in recovery, it does give me hope. God bless you.xxx
  • I'm an alcoholic. I want to go to AA. Thank you Sober James. I'm on my way.

Had my final drink 2/2/2018. Never looked back. Sober and loving it
  • I have had the pleasure of hearing Tony H speak a number of times now and every time I do his story moves me, takes me back and keeps me green. I too had my last drink at 38 and hit my 30 year mark March 6, 2024. Like Tony and others with whom I identified through these blessed years, I know that I have been delivered from a hell that only an alcoholic or addict can know. I too have been blessed to have been gifted 2 lives. I am grateful beyond measure for all those who have gone before me.

I was 39 when i got sober after 23 years of battling my alcoholism and in 2 months it will be 2 years. I had a similar spiritual experience like Anthony and hadnt had the urge to drink since. It was a miracle that i have embraced and will not take for granted. I feel i have somewhat of a connection with Anthony Hopkins since we have alot in common so thanks James for posting this.
