Can’t say whether I agree or not but I didn’t believe they “mutually agreed to part ways” Belichick is still looking for a job and he just mentioned he loved coaching the Patriots. He definitely was canned.

When Tom left for Tampa, players flocked to Tom. Meanwhile, Bill had to overpay to get slightly over average players. A year later, SB for Tom, no playoffs for Bill. The blame placed on Tom for his last year in NE was unreasonable. He lost all his receivers by the end of the year. When he had Brown, Gordon, Edelman etc, they looked unbeatable. I don't think any of the receivers at the end of that year are even in the league anymore.

Thumbs down for the music. Why ruin your content?
  • Belichick treated everyone the same. Some of the greatest mentors I've ever had didn't kiss my feet after a success, they called me on bullshit. Maybe Tom's ex needs to realize that her career & her industry is the fantasy world, the rest of us live & work in the real world.

The Patriots were a great franchise by their “sum of parts- You have #1/top 6 at worst QB with one of the greatest defensive minds in NFL history who is also one of the greatest at in-game adjustments and preparation. Several defensive stars and future HOFs with great staff of assistants and great coordinators. Probably the hallmark of a franchise that does not lose its mind in free agency. No real challengers in their division beyond the Jets in odd season. They owned Pittsburgh and Peyton in his earlier days.
  • None of those coaches from the Belichick tree had Tom Brady. If Belichick would not have had Brady his record would have been similar to the coaches listed. Belichick's record without Brady speaks for itself. An analysis was done and it was shown based on statistics that Belichick's defense finished an average of 17th during the time he had Brady. So much for the vaunted Patriot defense. Brady carried the Patriots organization.

I understand but Bill was able to leave on his own - Robert Kraft did not fire him - I believe it was a joint decision, but a class act on Robert Kraft just let him walk away

We grew up with thought love. If someone called you weak you would do everything to prove that person wrong. Now it’s considered being mean or negative

Bill stayed with TB when Drew was ready to come back. What HC at that time would have done that. Matter of fact what HC today would have done that. Nada. 5 of 6 SB the defense was paramount to there victories.

Belichick’s problem was he started believing his “genius” press clippings. Taking a DC and making him an OC was a perfect example of his hubris.

Brady’s unibrow never gets honorable mention. RIP Brady’s unibrow.
  • I'm a Brit I haven't got a horse in the race, it's simply a fact that I enjoy watching the NFL. Unquestionably Belichick is one of the greatest coaches who ever coached in the NFL but something about him feels off. I'm thinking if we ever got to know the man behind the coach I honestly believe we'd be horrified.

Don't look for much from the Pats for quite a while.

I like to think that Bill was being a great friend by helping Tom move on instead of staying on a leaking ship. Kraft was unwilling to give Bill what it took to keep the team on top. Tom was not on my list of one of the greatest until his accomplishments after leaving the Patriots. Long live the GOAT!

Well I know one thing and that is if Tom Brady wasn't drafted by the Patriots they would have not won any of their super bowls nor would they have ever made it to a super bowl and maybe not a playoff for that matter, it was all about Tom Brady not Bill.
  • @lightschunk
It was Tom. None of this works without him. Tom showed everyone that he could get it done without Bill.
  • He was an average head coach but a great defensive. Coach. That's the truth if it wasn't for Tom Brady it's not going to happened.

He did the same thing to Bernie Kosar in Cleveland. However, it might have saved bernie's life since he had so many concussions.
