so that's why people play with controllers...

Drifting and Racing in Forza Horizon 5 using both Controller and a Steering Wheel to test out which feels better. I am using PS4 controller and T300 wheel. I knew how the wheel would handle but controller surprised me big time in a good way. Feels like FH5 is mainly focused on controller players.

Question of the day: What device do You prefer to play games with?
  • I prefer Wheel because it feels better to use, it's definitely more difficult especially because going from one extreme angle to another in an instant is slower on a wheel but the feel of it is so much more satisfying. I haven't been able to play on a controller ever since I got my wheel.
  • Change steering to standard from simulation. Simulation setting is really only used for the wheel. You’ll be able to drift with one hand on the controller

With a controller I can nail crazy fast unrealistic drifts and it got easy rather fast because it was all I ever used for years. Now with a wheel it is a much more realistic feel and that gives everything a more realistic speed and approach. Its much more difficult but getting the hang of it is so much more satisfying to pull off than it ever was on controller

A wheel is useful when you want a realistic play, but controller is for racing (for me) it's really helpful when turning

goose : "i've always struggled with hypercars" procceeds to bring a ferrari to an offroad race
  • I've found it easier to control angles if you pull the left stick back and steer using the joystick border, rocking it to the left or right for which direction you need
  • The controller gets MUCH better if you change the analog stick's sensitivity curve from linear to cubic or something like that. I use a PS5 controller on PC, so I had to change it on DS4win. This setting allows you to get smaller angles in-game for a given angle on the joystick (while also allowing you to get the full range of steering).

Just thought I'd mention this, it is easier to control your car if you are in first person perspective. It lets you see directly in front of the car and thus allows you to more precisely maneuver it along a corner. It is harder to see your sides, but its a fair compromise IMO

Joke's on you, I'm not a casual gamer who goes to the gym, I'm a casual gamer who works as a landscaper.
  • @pfunkle
Wheel is more difficult, and definitely slows me down compared to how good I was with a controller, but MAN it is so much fun, particularly with the six-speed shifter. I had to relearn how to drift... But it was worth it 😊

Goose, Just saying. You have got me through a lot of the times i get bored in life. If i ever get bored, you just instantly upload. Thank You Goosiest For Making All These Videos❤❤
  • @MatTheGreatt
Awesome video! And from experience I can say it is pretty difficult to drift with a controller, but very rewarding!
  • @rainin4184
Lower the dead zone of the joysticks on the controller as much as you can and it will let you make more precise turns, but if you have a broken joystick if will drift by itself so you might have to keep it turned up
  • @D4RKBRU73
"...because you're a casual gamer who never goes to gym!" LOL 🤣
  • 2:18 you have to adjust the deadzones for controllers to minimize car sway without steering input. I can drift perfectly fine with controllers its the throttle control that sometimes gets me
  • @aleska7121
I love that you play Forza, a XBox/pc game, with a PS4 controller, and a wheel for Gran Turismo, a PS exclusive game
  • The way he was driving that hypercar off-road was hilarious to me because it's actually not that difficult just got to know exactly how much throttle to give it
