Before Nigella Lawson became a popular celebrity chef and food writer, she began her career in publishing and journalism. She began writing book reviews for the magazine The Spectator, and in 1985, she became a restaurant critic.

Lawson gained prominence during the late '90s and early 2000s, when she published her first best-selling book How to Eat and began hosting her popular TV show Nigella Bites.

Today, she has appeared on and hosted various other TV shows, and she continues to have a successful writing career. Nigella Lawson's transformation from obscure restaurant critic to one of the best-known names in the food world is turning heads.

What do you think about Nigella Lawson?
  • Nigella’s shows really help with my anxiety. When my mum died last year, I watched her old shows for hours everyday. Even now when I have a panic attack, I put one of her shows on

This woman should have been the sexiest woman alive at least for a few years. Even today I think she’s the most attractive looking celebrity.

Her original shows (Nigella Bites/Feasts) are my favorite cooking shows ever. The production was fantastic. Everything just felt very authentic and Nigella is so articulate and engaging. I still watch them on youtube when I'm stressed.

Nigella is not a chef. She’s said a hundred times that she’s a home cook and just loves food. She’s only 10 years older than I am, and her approach to cooking reminds me of my grandmum, and my mum. ❤️
  • Nigella is beyond fabulous. Her manner is so very genuine and calm. I have all of her cookbooks my Husband and I cook at least two of her recipes every week. I love and adore that Nigella talks about food in the most truly sublime manner and she exibits her joy of her produce. Australia.

  • She has a beautiful calm body language which really makes a very positive effect ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nigella Lawson is an inspiration for those of us who love food, who struggle with personal issues, and who draw the line at what we choose to share. I admire her greatly, and she always makes me hungry!
  • I adore Nigella Lawson. I also love how we see her eat and enjoy what she’s prepared!

I have only two questions: what transformation and whose heads are turning? You really didn’t need to lie so blatantly in order to get clicks, you know? The story was interesting enough by itself.

She’s just so beautiful, both inside and outside!

Nigella is the most beautiful and wholesome cook that I have enjoyed watching...

Her how to eat reads like a novel. The first cookbook I actually read. I love her; she's so authentic, kind and has a good soul that shines through.

Even through all the tragedies she has suffered in her life she still manages to stay a kind and decent person.
  • She's awesome. I've seen a couple of episode in Nigella Bites and I must say she's a class act. I truly admire her.
  • It's easy to see where her great looks come from. Her mother was stunning!

I adore Nigella Lawson. She is so much more than a chef. She would be considered a National Treasure in the United States.
