Here’s the 1st version of More Than A Woman Static redid it because he felt he could do better. Baby girl never heard this version.

R Kelly and Missy did a great job writing for Aaliyah, but I think Static’s writing was the most compatible for her voice and style

My dude was way ahead of his time....sooooooo dope

That first verse would make such a great bridge on More Than a Woman, love it

Wow. Static really knew how to write vocals that beautifully dance with the music. The melody, harmonies, adlibs - all so fluid. I'm mesmerised. Incredible.

Ms. Garrett I don't know if you will see this comment or, if you read the comments, but if so I want to let you know that your husband was a great musical influence on my songwriting growing up. I write more gospel and praise songs/poetry now, but as a teenager and 20s I loved His writing style. Honestly I firmly believe that He was a good reason and portion of keeping hip hop and r&b so fresh during the late 90s and first decade of the 2000s! From obviously Aaliyah as a artist, to destiny's child, NAS, Christina Aguleria, timbaland, Rihanna, truth hurts, T.I. etc so mannnnyyyyyy his penmanship is definitely missed, whether people recognize, Will acknowledge or give proper credit to, the facts of the many hits Already prove that statement. I wish He would of lived to see the fruits of His own record or two, maybe 3 who knows! He had so much potential left in Him. It would have been cool to even see him cross over to church music. So I just want to personally thank you for keeping your Husband's legacy Alive and well! God bless peace and love to you! 🙏

They should've did a remix version with Aaliyah singing these lyrics 💕

I like the lyrics more in this version. Especially the beginning. It's super catchy. 💕
  • @smojitto
He just sang demos for her that you can literally hear Aaliyah how she would have sung it ❤️
  • this is crazy, i wish we got this as like an alternate version on the album
  • @SOULarLioness
Uggghhhh!!! I WISH Aaliyah would have known about this version. I yearn to hear HER voice with these words. Damn, Static...so smooth and lovely.

My heart aches when I think about the chemistry these two had in creating music together 😩💙🌹
  • Was looking for this for years. Used to play this version years back. It's better than the radio/album version.
