Awesome idea... I have a 2015 Keystone Cougar fifth wheel and there are two remote levers for the black and gray tanks. They are cables and I was thinking the cable was sticking. My issue was with the gray water valve, as we usually leave it open and now couldn't close it... I was able to locate the dump gate valves and cut the belly open to access them. I attempted remove the valve itself and after removing the four bolts, the valve couldn't be removed due to the glued joints and secure tanks. I reinstalled the bolts. I was able to remove the cable clamp bracket by removing two philips head bolts and nuts and a finger tight nut and this allowed the removal of the cable bracket from the gate valve body. I then used Norm Burgess's idea of 3/32" drill and lube. It turned out it was the valve and not the cable. I placed a small machine screw in the hole and re assembled everything and it worked excellent. I took the cable bracket off of the black tank valve and did the same mod and secured everything. Closing up the belly with black gorilla tape. Thank you for this info. The most difficult thing was dealing with the under belly, once it was open and I could see it was just disassemble, drill, lubricate and reassemble. Thanks again.

I was in the RV industry-we would spray the knife valve inside the poop tube pretty generously with lube and spray the handle rod/shaft. Work the handle back and forth til it’s Lucy goosey. I do like your hack. Cheers

if you use a quarter cup of vegtable oil when you drop the tank your problem will disappear. this is especially helpful for people that cant get to the black tank valve. been rving for 5 years fulltime and this works. good luck

Merci pour votre recommandation. J'ai fait exactement ce que vous avez dit et les deux valves pour l'eau noir et grise qui étaient collés, fonctionne comme des neuves. Merci pour le conseil. Works I’m sure, however, on my trailer the handle is a remote connection by cable to the actual valve which is inside of the insulated cover on the bottom of the trailer.
