9:02 AJ’s fake book background falling while Johnny is talking about serious life issues and them having to keep straight faces was an all time moment

1 week and 1 day sober guys. I feel a lot better in mind and body. Hope the best for anyone who is going through the same.

So many of us had no idea what we were doing when young. Hoping the best for Johnny going forward.

Watching the green screen slowly fall, Pat and AJ exchange glances, and then Pat’s background change to the bookshelf all without Johnny ever noticing is the reason I love this show.

You can still see pain in his eyes. It'll be a life long battle to get past this but he can do it!

I always wondered whether AJ had a real book case or a green screen… turns out, it was neither 🤣🤣🤣

Man, when the camera came back to Pat and he had the books behind him I almost died from laughter. All unspoken. Fantastic.

These sort of interviews are why I love this show. It feels like every guest is just more relaxed and able to be themselves. I appreciate Johnny being open about his struggles, it’s not easy to be open about them but Johnny telling his story could save people from making similar mistakes. Glad to see Johnny is in better place, best of luck to him going forward!

The Johnny Football interview will always be remembered as the Day AJ's bookshelf died.

Pats updated background after AJs mishap was gold

Seeing genuine emotion from him and sharing his story is powerful. It will benefit someone.

My buddy was in Rehab with him in like 2015. Had nothing but good things to say about him. Real ass dude.

A legend in my eyes I was in middle school when he rose and the influence he had on us young athletes was insane. There aren’t many college quarterbacks that rose to the level he did for A&M. Glad he’s doing better 🐐

Johnny was a Must Watch at Texas A&M every Saturday. I needed to know what time & channel they were playing on. Only other player I remember feeling this way about was Magic Johnson. Everyone talks about his Alabama game, take a look at what he did to Duke in his Bowl game too.

As a Browns fan, we wanted nothing but for Johnny to succeed. The drinking in Vegas thing at a time he needed to train, we knew it was going no where. We had high hopes.

Johnny was a lot of fun to watch in college. Mental health is real and still so many people ignore it because they cannot see it.

Excellent interview. Good to see him turning his life around and giving back to the younger generation. The Netflix doc was great as well.
  • The level of respect that I have for him after watching this just rose significantly. You can really tell he has taken a lot of time to work thru this. Mad respect

Recovering alcoholic & addict here that wreaked havoc on everyone & everything meaningful in my very small world. Can only imagine the chaos and wreckage had that world been bigger, more resourceful and public. So grateful people before me paved the way & provided directions on how to get up & out!
