As a Mustang lover, I'll never forgive Ford for calling that Mach E a Mustang. Why not call it the Escape E, because that's what it looks like.
  • @Hardsend
I bought a 2012 f150 xlt 4x4 It was 10 years old when I bought. Last winter in Ontario we got 2 feet of snow in one day and this truck was a tank in it. I’m keeping it until she dies

The more I see $75,000 electric cars the more I like my 1998 Nissan Quest that I paid $800 for and have had for 10 years. This is a pre-Renault Nissan before they took a turn for the worst which I learned from Scotty. Thanks!

I just put 150K on my 2013 F150 5.0 4X4. I put her through hell and back and haven't had to do anything but general maintenance. I'll never go back to a Chevy, Dodge or Yota again.. Ford has a returning customer here!
  • I just bought a 2010 F-150 4x4 4.6L V8 a month ago. Its my first Ford and couldn't be happier. I love this truck.
  • I have a 2007 Ford F-150 FX4 and all I had to do was replace the spark plugs. I am the original owner and I absolutely love my truck. It has a little over 94,000 miles and runs beautiful.
  • As Scotty said, less computer on a car means less headache. Manual transmission has no computer so it is reliable and cause no headache. No need for dual clutch.
  • @timriley302
I came across a nice 2015 F250 super duty plain jane pickup 120k all serviced at 98k big gas v8 6 spd auto 4x4 for $17k love this truck- it like the E85 not much difference in mileage amazingly enough.

my sister had a 2016 focus. the transmission started slipping within 5 months of buying it new. they fixed the transmission 2 times and it didn't help. finally ford called her and said if she came to a dealership. they would give her a new 2019 focus for the same amount of money she owed on her car. the 2019 works great.
  • I have a 2010 F150 STX 4x4 .. purchased new .. I absolutely love it !!!! I’ve had no issues with it at all !!
  • @gord2358
My 2002 F150 4.6 V8 4x4 which I've had since new is still going strong at 450,000 kilometers (250,000 miles approx.) has never had any engine work I credit the use of SAE 5W-20 full synthetic oil. The first half of its life was spent towing 4,000 lb. every day. Eventually had to replace the transmission and rear end but those are the only major repairs in twenty years. Oh, and an alternator, A/C compressor and fuel pump. Other than those items, just regular brake repairs and tires. Would highly recommend Ford F150.
  • Regarding the f-150, the spark issue was addressed in mid season 2008. There were actually two distinct problems, first the plug ports in the head had too few threads and plugs ejected on their own. Second issue was plugs of two piece design with a head deesign that was horrible, allowed the spark plug to get seized up in the hole and then they would break off because of the weak two piece design.Your advice on oil is spot on correct, the 5-30 does much better and oil change intervals of 3500 miles will go a long way to assure a trouble free engine, there is ample testimony on line that supports the advantages of low mileage oil change even if you use synthetics. The thing with the 3 valve is that a CLEAN oiling system is absolutely essential, engine service must be spot on timely. This engine does have weakness in the components of the variable valve timing system and sometimes even with good maintenance they come undone because timing chain tensioner gaskets blow out and the top of the engine starves for oil. The oil pumps are known to have a flexing backplate that causes oil pressure loss at higher RPM. Aside from these issues the bulk of breakdown causes comes from lack of maintenance....meticulous maintenance!
  • Also Akebono break pads leave very little brake dust. I had them on an E55 benz & they were a life saver.
  • My dad was not happy when I bought a ford. 10 yrs 2 brake jobs 2 tune ups later. My 2012 fusion with 240k is still going strong. I've been looking for an excuse to buy a new car. I haven't found that reason yet
  • 2009 Mustang auto, 218k on it. Recall for airbag and had to replace thermostat housing (design flaw which was covered under a warranty). Three brake jobs, three sets of spark plugs (E3). KN air intake. That's it, other than oil changes and tires and oh yeah, changed battery three times over its life. Runs like a dream still, power galore, comfortable as heck. I don't think I could buy a Mustang of this quality new today. One of the best cars I have ever owned, and that's saying something. I hope to have it for the rest of my life, for reals.
  • Scott sure is hammering Ford but honestly I’ve had better luck with Ford than GM. Had an Escape and literally no repairs, my grammys 91 Taurus just died….yes 91, our current driver, our Flex has 192k and runs like a stabbed rat. Every GM I’ve had recently had issues, except my 86 gmc s15. THAT…..was a great little truck!
  • Have a 2014 Fiesta, hitting 146,000 miles and thankfully no problems yet. The DCT started to slip from 2nd to 3rd but got the trans fluid changed and reset and it made a pretty big difference.
  • @Trenton-om9qs
Scotty- (says he wouldn't buy a new F150) then proceeds to show a 12 year old truck and doesn't say anything that bad about it lol. I have an 05 F150 with the 5.4 and I have always used 5-30 instead of 5-20 because of the mileage on the engine and it has never treated me wrong.
  • I think I'll be sticking with my 4.6 in my 08 Mustang and my 7.3 in my 97 and 99 F-250s. Both have served me extremely well, Especially my 99 which I payed about 8 grand, 2 wheel drive supercab with about 214k on the odometer.
