In Courchevel Les 3 Vallées, the start is the most challenging and difficult because of narrow ridge…Le Grand Couloir start at 3 mins 10 with 85% 40 degrés slope…Alexis kept asking to do it for weeks...his older sisters did it at age 4 and 5...we got 2 feet of snow lately so it was time to do it safe....I had to slow him down all the way…he was ready for it…daddy is old and slow…😁🥰

I miss the days of being a fearless kid willing to hit the steepest blacks on the first run of the winter. Now I'm old, even the ski lift seems a challenge!
  • I’m in constant awe when watching these tiny kids fly down a mountain as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. I’m 58 and my son is now 16. I first took him skiing at the age of 4, and watching his progression through the years to become the accomplished skier he now is is one of my life’s greatest pleasures. Fantastic video 👍
  • Kids at this age are able to learn anything really good and fast, especially when they have a talent l for it. Awesome job Dad!
  • Alexis is a superb little guy!! 10/10 a Star in the making!! Well done papa! Great memories ❤❤

It is a great thing you have done for your kids with skiing. Alex did a great job with impressive confidence and control. The video was wonderful to watch. I will show it to my neighbors kids. I took them skiing twice this season. They were 6, 9 and 11. The 6 year old is athletic and smart. He learned faster than the other two. By the end of the second day they could do ok carved turns with their skis paralell. Them seeing Alex ski on a tough slope with get them psyched. Great video.
  • What a fabulous ski. And that long wide open run home...wow...got to appreciate that. Thanks for sharing!
  • Your kid is amazing, a future champion, his tracking and edging was brilliant for his age!!! Dad, your guidance was just right, without over stressing! His natural balance was evident and his confidence was also enhanced by your guidance... you have created a super memory for your family when he gets his first gold!! Thankyou, what an acheivement! :)

I think Dad was saying “slow, slow, go left, go right”. I don’t speak French but that’s the universal things we say teaching kids. My kids called me The Turn Hitler.

My mum took me down a similar black run in Portes du Soleil when I was 6. I made a bad turn after 20 seconds and then tumbled down the entire run, around 300 meters. Skis, poles, gloves, all over the place. No injuries but I refused to continue skiing that day and we took the bus back to the apartment.

That's a nasty start to a pretty gnarly descent :) Well done Alexis and dad.

Five years old. Amazing. Kid’s a pro. Seems more relaxed than the dad. Nice job on part of dad. That’s the way to do it
  • Je suis impressionnée par cet enfant.
J'ai fait du ski pour la 1er fois cette année et j n osé imaginer ma prestation sur une telle pente 😂😂😂

That kid is fearless and fantastic with your kind guidance I'm sure!! Bravo

Wow! Well done kid, fantastic job. It’s a horrible run, you did it brilliantly. When I did this with my mates several years ago, we went straight to the pub!
  • I don't know much French, but most of this I understand, because I learned to ski in Switzerland and the instructor spoke French but mostly in these words! she was the best teacher, by the way.
  • @TheMurfield
Sweet !!!!! Gotta love the Kiddo fearless approach !
  • @Jyard
That was amazing, watching it really doesn’t do justice to how steep it is. Beautiful place!

I remember this run, ooohh. Lovely watching you with your daughter smashing it at the end
  • Fun to watch-
Pretty gnarly start for any parent along the ridge at the top-reminds me of the first time I took my kids to Snowbird - Had me terrified, they were fearless.
Miss the days of watching my kids taking it all on
