Even at the South Pole the Sun moves 15 Degrees per Hour

The south pole and north pole are two of the strangest places on earth. With the help of my astronomy simulator, Carte du Ciel, we stand on the south pole.

Yesterday, the sun rose for the first time this year and we get to see its path. It will stay about 2 degrees altitude from the horizon and circle us for the next 24 hours, always at about 2 degrees altitude and moving around that circle at the rate of 15 degrees per hour.
