Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is holding a press conference with public safety officials to highlight a new law that takes effect in Minnesota that increases the penalty for straw purchases.

This press conference comes as Walz's name is on a short-list to be Kamala Harris' running mate as she seeks the Democratic nominee to be the next president.

    The Federal Penalty for straw purchasing is 15 years in Federal Prison and fine of $250,000. And since the Hennepin County Attorney doesn’t prosecute any one but police officer. Turn it over to the Federal Attorney.

    How can you be sure this is bullshit? Straw purchases are already against the law. Walz is engaged in theater that will make no one safer. This is worse than doing nothing. Enforce the laws we have now and stop grandstanding, Walz.
