im pretty sure the thing that resurrected the loyal three was the crystal chunk you were carrying around—carmine mentioned that the pool was rumored to be able to let you communicate with the deceased so its probs related

"snorlax is in the gaaaaaaaaame" scratches my brain just right, honestly kills me everytime you show that clip 'cos i see it too

Ya know if Kieran had more apple-themed mons I doubt he'd be half as edgy, another great video!

Loved the story so far, the setup for the next game was a welcome surprise! The new charachters, Carmine especially, got hated into the ground. But I like her, shes not evil, just a bit blabbermouth. Just says what she thinks. And Keiran is insecure and always lives in the shadow of his sister. And as soon as he has the chance of greatness, a random dude/gal from Paldea shows up and picks up the ‘mon he has loved for years. And all that while his big sis is not supporting him, but the rando from Paldea. Id he pretty damn pissed too if I were in his shoes. For the future, Id love for Keiran to learn about IVs and EVs and become a really tough opponent!

When you beat Carmine at the end, i belive what she wanted to say was that she was going back to blueberry academy, but since Briar called she ended up not mentioning it untill you all got called to the plaza. About the crystal pool, i really hope it comes more into play in the second part, i really hope we get to go back to Kitakami in general since i really liked it, and the theory of being able to talk to either the professors, or Heath is fascinating to me.
  • I this dlc felt like a set up for Kieran's villain arc. It be the first we saw a character become a villain vs. Meeting them as a villain. We have evil gym leaders, an evil elite four member, if done right I feel like Kieran has tge potential to be tge first evil champion. I look forward to see where his story goes.

It’s so great when good YouTubers post long videos! It’s always a perfect opportunity to shiny hunt while watching! Keep up the great work!

I gotta say, you are adorable, and so is Applin and it's evolutions. And the Applin + evos playthrough is amazing! Your final remarks were good eye openers for me. My thoughts on them: It def had more emotion than I thought as well. Imo Carmine and Kieran were a very well done, close brother/sister duo. So well done that people seem to question it and if their sibling interactions were "normal". I really forgot about the Crystal pool and professors passing away totally flew over my head, but with you mentioning it, I could see a weird resurrection and reuniting of Arven with his Mother/Father happening in the 2nd DLC. I thought Briar was going to be the main "villain" which was totally dissipated in the end. And she definitely has something nefarious going on lol. And the ending Carmine interruption, many of us speculated a "love interest", me included. But your, "she knows more than she lets on" idea actually makes a lot of sense. My last thoughts are, yeah I thought Kieran wasn't treated right in the DLC. And we had no control over that and of course you'd feel angry being the "odd one out", I get that, I do or have felt that way in a group of friends. My Overall; great DLC, would have lived more Pokemon reintroduced. But glad with the mons we got and story we have so far.

honestly I don't blame kieran for being mad he was the only person who believed in the goodness of the oni and then we ended up taking it home with us after knowing the oni for like 3 days

Nice video as usual! Great work! Something I recently found out is that there seems to be this lore in game for the loyal three Okidogi was once weak and a desire for strength led it to gain muscles Munkidori was once dim witted but a desire for knowledge led it to gain wisdom Fezandipiti once had short and dull feathers but a desire for beauty led it to gain a more exquisite appearance Well, by the end of the dlc, someone showed a great desire for battle prowess; Kieran! The same guy who punched the monument of the loyal three moments before their resurrection. So honestly I think that while Kieran has sided with Ogerpon the whole time, he ironically is not much different from the loyal three or at least there’s some connection between them which we will maybe see more of in the second dlc?

I think the DLC was pretty decent there were a LOT of things I didn't like, and it kind of felt like just a setup for the second part. For one, the amount of new pokemon was lower than I would have liked - it felt even smaller because SO many of the final stage evos were trade evolutions (milotic, conkeldurr, dusknoir, politoed, golem). That's also not considering the weird thing they did with the day-night cycle; it's dependent on your story progression what time of day it is but they lock so many pokemon behind daytime or night-time that it was really frustrating trying to build a team, especially because I shiny-hunted my entire DLC team and was just straight up locked out of cool shinies like the litwick line. The lag and performance was just honestly unacceptable, I had the game completely freeze multiple times throughout the story. I used to get annoyed when people complained about lag, but after playing Tears of the Kingdom and seeing how well that ran at 100x the size it's just honestly criminal that they still haven't optimised the gameplay whatsoever. Why are my turn based set-animations running slower than dynamically fighting entire hordes of enemies? I'm hoping that the story gets better for the indigo Disk, my personal headcanon is that Kieran gets or is already being controlled/manipulated by the evil legendary of the DLC who is also revealed to be the leader of the loyal three. Definitely think the crystal pool is a setup for bringing back in the professors too - and I'm really excited for the final reveal on what paradox pokemon actually are.

Great upload Arlie! Glad i was there for your first Dipplin! 😁
  • @TheDudeandDoodle
I came to this video for one reason….APPLIN 🍎🍏. In all seriousness, great video!
  • @DoofAlmighty
The intro said that the Teal Mask restored life or words to that effect. I just think the presence of the mask near the monument resurrected the loyal three.

I've been wanting to talk ab the DLC too, I have so many ideas ab it but I've no idea if I'm right so potential spoiler warning of course! I feel like theres a lot of similarities between Kieren and the loyal 3 that make his arc look scary in the upcoming dlc. First off is both Kieren and the loyal 3 went looking for Ogrepon for no real reason, and while Kieren's intentions look good at the start, in the end he ends up choosing his own selfishness. Branching off for a sec, its said for each of the 3 as well that they desired more of themselves in one way or another, with the monkey wanting to become smarter, okidogi wanting to become bigger and scarier, etc. Whats interesting is it looks like they got that after they died? Their statues were very different to the pokemon you fight, so it seems being revived changed them. Taking all of that into account, Kieren's strong desire/wish to become stronger, the loyal 3 getting their "wishes" after being revived, and a pool that interacts with the dead in some way, I'm very worried for Kieren's safety :(

Amazing video! The biggest thing that interested from the story was that Briar talked about trying to figure out the terastal energy so it could be used outside of the Paldea region. Given that Blueberry academy is in Unova, it makes me wonder if they might try to bring tera-battles to Unova if we get a remake of Black and White?
  • @midas2166
Thank you for both of these episodes 🙏 keep up with this format, its just perfect, so calm but still telling the whole story, perfection 😍
