"You heard of Ninth Ranger Battalion?" "Nah, but I've seen their cool uniforms, what'd they do?" "They call 'em Tarkovs. Don't know why, but the name stuck. They sent in two men at a time to tackle the Creek." "Two?" "Yeah, man, and the bots barely even knew they were there before they were all cut off. The guys from the Ninth... they're scary. I've only fought with them once. Almost seems like they're sharing each other's brain, man. They're... they're something else."

It's honestly impressive how a game so loud and bombastic does support a stealth playstyle.
  • @Lure_01
I can't wait for stealth to be more viable, CEO hinted at subsonic ammunition on twitter a while ago.

Autocannon's explosion can attract enemy patrols. If you were undetected, it's a good way to draw enemies away from a position.

Huge respect to fellow Helldivers. Did a simillar thing with my brother, went full MGS on helldive difficulty and finished the operation. It was an insane mix of stealth and close calls, loved every second of it. In our case it was Draupnir though, but the Creek is in our sights. Keep fighting!
  • Pretty cool the "tactical take" on this game, instead of the hell of a massacre!

i love the refreshing blend of hub-like openworld and extraction approach for a co-op horde shooter, it gives the freedom being able to tackle task reminiscent of Tom Clancy Wildlands, and HD2 like previous titles in the genre still has an AI director, talk about replayability. now hearing the recent news, im happy they're fleshing out its stealth.

22:30 the artillery objective as the patrol were closing in, then extracted. wow you guys are saboteurs.

This video really wrinkled my brain. I had long ago overlooked the Anti-Material Rifle as worthless, but seeing you put it to work taking out Hulks was a joy. It was also nice seeing a well-edited video that narratively ratcheted the tension.

This was like watching two pros at work, very clinical and direct. It's my first time watching your gameplay footage, so that was my impression. The synergy between the two of you shows many hours spent playing together, understanding the objectives, devise a quick plan through communication, you're able to attack them in a timely and swift manner. Not all plan of attacks work out the way you want it to in Helldivers II, but you guys made the best of the situation and got the job done, fantastic work guys. This also reminds me so much of playing MGSV(one of the best tactical espionage stealth games imo), where you're sneaking around taking out enemies one by one without being detected.
  • When you do the large artillery cannon optional mission, it's best to first collect all the rockets before activating the panel since the penal activates aggro from the enemies usually, also the order you put the ammo in and the kind of ammo you put in matters in terms of what you get when calling the artillery afterwards.
  • Thank you for actually playing the game with some amount of tactical approach. It is painful to see the number of people coming into this game who just run directly into a swarm, guns-a-blazing, then complain about the game being "broken"
  • @Flameshot_
this is honestly such a freaking cool mission you guys did. The synergy and team plays are too cool, calling out when to shoot and killing two armored bots at once, alongside with your tactics and the insane graphics and game mechanics, this video felt like I was watching some type of Assassin movie
  • you guys doing this with out of the meta equipment show to those elitist that kick newbies or just those that don't like the meta out of their matches who are the real Helldivers, congrats to you two that are proving to us all that having meta equipment is optional to the high level missions, and what you really need is skill, patience and friendly allies, not meta suckers, traitors of democracy!

The expendable launcher can take down a drop ship with one hit to an engine and it spawns 2 with a cooldown of 70 seconds. You can also use it to destroy certain objectives like radio towers and for bugs the spore spewer (if you can get close enough).
  • @Gokerz
This is awesome! With one of you having an autocannon I was surprised to see no cases of extreme range sniping. Many side objectives and even some main ones can be sniped as soon as you see them with an autocannon. The dropships for example (~5 hits to an engine with an autocannon even from very far away), bot fabricators (be in front and bounce it into the vent, can be done from very far away), and some other stuff like broadcast towers and spore spewers. Seems much safer than sneaking in close for Stratagem use. With the artillery the game starts spawning enemies when you activate the terminal. So it's a good idea to carry all the munitions in front of the slot before you activate it.

Love all the dramatic theatrics for something that only took 5 attempts. I don't say that to throw any flak or shade your guy's way, you guys just made it look like a cake walk. Good job. :)
  • @gibroon4418
Your amazing synergy between yourselves is what got you through this mission. An absolute joy to watch. I've always thought the sniper was underutilized. Being able to hit the red eyes so accurately makes it just as effective as the "stronger" autocannon or rail gun. Love the fact you are still learning from the comments section. It's such a fantastic game and looking forward to how they develop the game. Please be patient with the devs though. I've already heard people asking for more content. This game has been out less than a month. They've been hit with a success they were never expecting. Let them enjoy the moment for a wee while 😊

It's interesting to see your intuition and teamwork as someone who hasn't played many multiplayer shooters for a long time. Learning Helldivers 2 is a big task and there are a lot of tricks to pick up to make missions easier. Some tips I've learned are that where you spawn into a mission has a huge impact on mission performance, and support weapons are not to be slept upon when taking down optional objectives. The autocannon and grenade launcher especially serve as much utility as offense for clearing nests, factories, and other destroy objectives. Also knowing when to retreat is huge against bots. Simply running away to catch your breath for even just 10 seconds is important when bombarded from all sides by bots.
